After 1 more visit a new amiibo will want to move in. I can kick out any of the above mentioned. Before that I could adopt your villager as I have an open space available.
I am looking for Bob or Punchy.

That's the first time I'm hearing of this. A friend of mine used his amiibos alright and kicked one of his old villagers out that way with no problems.

there‘s literally a pinned thread about this problem, it happens to lots of people. happened to me too, shouldn‘t risk it!! it will be a problem for the buyer

Yeh it will be a problem if you then try to trade the villager you pushed out with someone. Using an amibo card and keeping the villager for yourself is fine though and not glitchy.
