I hope they let us have a custom town map option. They have seen people havk the ds and how we have been able to edit things and they come out amazing. I never was able to do that but it would be nice for the layout. I feel i?m picky with finding a map, and wanting to do things so i reset a lot till i find the perfect map layout.

What are your opinions on this?

I'd be all for this. I don't know what the chances are that Nintendo would actually implement this though.

They see we do it and always change it because they are agenst it. But we always find a way to do it. Just someone now will have to make one for the seitch if they don’t. I really hope we hear something soon.

Not sure how likely it is, but I would love to see an AC game with customizable town maps. Or even if it wasn't really customizable, having some measure of control over the map (beyond a few randomly-generated ones to pick from) would be very nice!

Would be in fact a really nice and also helpful feature. Not only they would give the
player more freedom in terms of creativity, you would also save a lot of time which
you would wasted in finding a good looking map.

I’m seconding this, along with the fact that you can have your town buildings and where and what villagers will live in your town however you want it as the new gimmick of the game. If they do it like that they’d possibly get more money than they did with new leaf on the first year it releases.

Because if you have the ability to manipulate your own town without forcing it is something most players want because almost every AC player has the tendency to plan out their town and move out the ones they don’t like. So now you don’t get to be a creepy control freak, just a great control freak.

You’d still be the mayor of your own town, but this time it’s planned out because you first go to a regular forest to turn it into a busy life town as you’re the owner of it.

I made this comment really long. But I was trying to reach my point of how I think this gimmick would be way better than the other game’s gimmicks they did.

This would be really cool, and definitely a helpful feature for those who like to design their towns. I hope it’s something that we get in a future AC game at some point!

Not sure if they would add a feature to completely customize your layout, but it would be really nice. I’m all for it! Hopefully if they don’t do that they at least make it so you have a much larger variety of maps to choose from, instead of 4. Like an ability to just keep generating more or something

I would love this! Finding a good map is always so difficult to do, so being able to find what you like would be really neat. It's kinda like my mom put it, you need to go with the map you know you will like and can be happy with. Going with a map you don't like, well, it just doesn't work too well. I would make sure my custom map would have lots of room for landscaping.

It'd be really neat if they allowed more customization for the town map, like placement of buildings, ponds, rocks, etc. Personally, I don't want to design the whole town. I'm fine with just picking a map that I like and working around that. I look at it more like I'm moving into a town that already existed so obviously I can't control where everything goes ( I don't want to pick where villagers move into either). But I know a lot of people like building their own town, and I'd love to visit their dream towns, assuming dream suite comes back. I've seen so many awesome, creative towns, so it'd be cool to see what people can do with more control.
That being said, I hope any new customization stuff is more of an option than a requirement. I don't want the game to get too micromanage-y, or get bogged down with decisions on where to place every single thing. But the option for better/more control (if we want) can only be a good thing I'd think.

I thought of this idea before. I even recorded it into my Idea Book. But that’s mostly for natural landscapes.

I did like the introduction of choosing your own maps in ACNL, but even that needs improvement.

Yeah I think they're going to drop a lot of the traditionally randomised things like character creation and map, but I'm hoping that there's still an element of mystery and trial and error, like the hair dresser! I love how much personality the game had for turning a quiz into customisation. I'd rather not have the hair dresser be a quiz but would like quizzes to survive in the new game. It also allows for seeing other players who answered the same things as you.. though I bet most people looked up hair and stuff online or in Nintendo Power lol

I doubt they would let us do it. I'm not sure how it would even work because you would have to do it at the beginning and I feel like it would take forever.

I like this idea, I'd be all for it of course.
I'm guessing in the upcoming AC game they'll have made a change involving how you choose your map layout though, so it may not be customizable like we'd hope but I think maybe they'll make it so that we don't even need that kind of feature.

If they wanted to, they could give a custom grid with the placements (something that you would see in a map editor for ac hacking tools) though it wouldn’t be too free range as to prevent corruption, placement would be limited on water falls unless you had a river connecting it (or something like that)

So, they wouldn’t give a tool that powerful and the only time I see that kind of custom mapping is through hacking (lets be real, they’ll never do it in the way I’m describing it

But I’m all for the idea of making a custom map were you choose where the town hall and retail (if it ever returns) goes

I would love to be able to create my own town, placing all the buildings where I would like the, along with the rest of the map. I would also like to be able to have more than one town especially for each player.
