Hello, hello! I've finished reading up on everyone else's blogs for the day to get inspired and such, so now it's time for my contribution. This evening in Storrs, I was greeted by a (supposedly) rare sunset gradient in the sky!

Here you can also see my new fairy-tale exterior and somewhat poor attempt at dressing "girly." Yesterday, the Abel Sisters were selling a Blossom Tee which I liked and thought might look nice with the Hot Spring Skirt. I also ordered a Hot Spring Tee, just in case the Blossom Tee didn't look as nice as I thought. That ended up being the case, so I stashed the Blossom Tee in my drawers to be styled later and just wore the Hot Spring set as it came.
Buck had dropped in on me as soon as I went back into my house, so while all of the deciphering was going on, I left him to chill in my room at his own leisure. Fortunately by the time I was done, he was ready to leave and I could go on about my day. Outside, I checked my mailbox and had five letters and a few deliveries. I left a few I'd ordered in their packages to drop off by Lily's later, and also thought I would save the letters from my friends to read then, too.
Setting off on my daily patrol, I found Katie wandering around between my house and the Lighthouse. She asked me if I would take her to see another town and I declined for the time being, vowing to take her somewhere later if the opportunity arose, which it later did. Looking forward to what she sends me!
Mitzi was home today, so I stopped in. She told me she wanted a new piece of furniture to replace her Cabana Dresser, and I was slightly appalled at first. I just gave you that, Mitzi! But then I remembered that it was the Cabana Bookcase I had given her, so it was all okay. Still, I love the placement of all of her furniture, so I didn't plan on finding her anything new.
A little way's along, I noticed an owl perched atop the bulletin board. As much as I hated to scare it off, I checked to see what might have been posted. It was the first announcement for Weeding Day, which is now only a week away! I'm a little concerned; I've had my Beautiful Town ordinance disabled for about a month now, but I don't feel like I have enough weeds to merit me a lot of prizes from Leif. I wouldn't care too much, but I want a lot of his items for a room I'm planning for the Red Queen's Castle. I guess we'll see what transpires.
I deleted any old messages I didn't think needed to be on the board anymore and carried on. Wart Jr. was home, and the first thing he said was that it makes him sad inside to think that he's going to be moving in four days. I swallowed the lump in my throat and encouraged him to go once more, however much I am going to miss him. </3
Exiting his home, I found Buck walking around by his. He called me over, and told me to be brutally honest about what I thought of his catchphrase, "neighhbor." I love it, but I thought I'd try to help him come up with something new. I usually have him alternate between "neighhbor" and his "pardner," but this time I tried to think of something fresh. I ended up with "giddy-up," since he's a horse and all, but I hope he doesn't want to keep it for long. Talking to him again to hear how it sounds, he asked me to deliver a present to Lolly, and I agreed to do so whenever I ran into her.
A few fossils and bamboo shoots later, I found her outside in her yard between her house and Deirdre's. She ran up to me and asked me how I was feeling these days, on a scale of great to blah. I answered somewhere three-quarters of the way to great, and she offered to give me a personality quiz she found in a magazine to determine what would make me happiest. Cheesy though it be, I was a little bit curious. First question was what kind of weather I like. Easy, sunny. Second was a little tougher: what kind of music I felt like listening to right then. None of the choices sounded good to me at all, but I chose swing, as it was the least bad choice. The last question was most interesting, what concerned me the most: Wart Jr.'s hair, Fang's clothes, Becky's jokes, or Felicity's future. I had to think about this one for a while and eventually narrowed it down to either Fang's clothes or Felicity's future. Seeing as I'd helped Fang out with some clothes just recently, I opted for the latter, since I was concerned with whether or not she would like to move soon. With these results, Lolly told me what would make me the happiest: Dedicating myself to the art of paper crafts.
Wait a minute... Lolly told me just recently that she'd been trying to learn paper crafts 'to impress someone'. Is she just trying to get me on board?
Nevertheless, I thanked her for the suggestion and gave her the present from Buck. She told me she would give me a prize if I could correctly guess what would be inside. I guessed clothing, since that's what these gifts usually are, more often than not. I was correct, and she awarded me with a Pink Tartan Shirt.
Since we were standing outside of Deirdre's house, and Deirdre was home, I thought I would pay a visit to the little deer I'm trying to woo PWPs out of. I noticed that she had displayed her Fall Leaf Shirt that I'd sent her, so my original outfit operation continues to yield success! She told me that she smelled the gold nugget on me from my ore rock earlier, and asked to buy it for 4,800 bells. Ehh...I normally don't sell my gold nuggets since I save them for Cyrus, but I thought that was one heck of a price and let her have it. She was happy, so I thought I would leave on a high note.
Having searched all of town and coming out with all of the daily fossils and such, I started on up towards the museum. On the way, I found Chief and he called me over. He told me he wanted to trade his hammock for my sapphire, which was a terrible deal, but I accepted because I love him so much. And because my ore rock today gave me another sapphire and several rubies, so I wouldn't be losing anything in the long run.
After I'd had my fossils checked and sold my inventory at Re-Tail, I started planting some more bamboo along the path that branches over to Fang's house. I liked the way the chopped ones looked along the top of the path, so I'd like to have a similar hedge line the bottom. I lacked a few, so I ran back over to the Zen Park to see if I'd missed any that my bamboo had reproduced there last night. Fortunately, I had missed three, which was exactly how many I needed for the last of the hedge.
While there, Felicity found me and came running over. She told me she'd eaten some banana bread and was way too hyper and asked me what she should do to calm down. I suggested running nonstop for a while, which she tested out right in front of me and ultimately concluded that it worked. Glad to be of service, ma'am.
Then I did my routine shopping. I came out with my obligatory fertilizer and sapling, a Yellow Tulip Bag for a spot I'd noticed one disappeared, a pack of Butterfly Paper, and an Iron Frame, Deep-Blue Tee, and a Hunter's Cap for my catalog.
Returning to town, I figured I'd go work my shift at the Roost. On the way, something drew me into the Police Station, so I asked Booker what was new. He told me he'd heard reports of someone being washed up on the beach, so I ran straight down to find Gulliver lying unconscious conveniently beside the dock. I awoke him, and he told me he was going to the country where the famous Mr. Nobel was from. I had no idea, so I did a little research on the Nobel Prize and discovered that it's from Sweden, so that's what I suggested to the salty seagull. That was correct, and I'm eager to receive a new souvenir!
Since I was so close to the dock, I thought I might as well check out the island today. Again, no hibiscus starts. Grr! But there was a Mermaid Lamp for my catalog. I went on a few tours to replenish my medals a bit, and opted for the Master Labyrinth Tour first. 'Twas a nail biter. I didn't find a single fruit I needed until like three minutes had gone by. But fortunately, I found all that I needed rather quickly after that, and finished with about a minute and a half to spare. Got a silver award and 7 medals, which I was pleased with for such an average run. Next I did the Elite Scavenger Tour, and found all three items rather quickly, netting me a gold award and 16 medals. Lastly, I went for the Shark-Battle Tour, which went amazingly. I caught three sharks in the first minute, and went on to catch a total of 13 in the time allotted. Tortimer was very impressed, as he should have been, and gave me 15 medals for my
performance.
Back to town, I finally made it up to the Roost. Wart Jr. was my first customer, and I served him his usual, which I will miss serving him once he's gone. ): Lolly and Whitney were next, who were easy as they both like The Regular. Last was Tom Nook, who I remembered liked a lot of milk. I served him a mocha with two sugars this time. He told me it wasn't a Kilimanjaro, and not quite as sweet as he likes it, so now I know exactly what to give him the next time he comes in.
Lastly, I dropped those items off by Lily's and read my letters from Whitney, Chief, Becky, Fang, and Lolly, all thanking me for letters and presents I had sent to them. Lolly was the only one who enclosed a gift, which was very thoughtful of her and the others should learn a lesson from that. I mean, didn't everyone in Wild World make sure to send YOU a present after you'd sent them one?
Anyhow, I sorted the few things out in Lily's house and made considerable progress on the queen's throne room and the main room courtyard. I believe I'm all done with the courtyard, except for a mannequin I think I'm going to dress and display right by the entryway.
That's it for my day today! Sorry if this was too long of a post; I've been trying to play more every day, so this is what happens. d:
