It does seem like an oversight to not include SOME mention of the previous day's event. It's like, so we're just going to pretend yesterday didn't happen? Lol

When you get so attached in some aspects to these digital animals, it's always a little bit of a bummer when something "unnatural" happens. But by the same token, they are just digital animals made by humans who can't possibly think of everything.

Generally it would be nice if they mentioned events after the day, but this time teir constant running after me legitimately stressed me out so much I don't even want to talk to them for the next few days at least.
Guess I won't be talking to them anytime soon since I will agree they were kinda annoying in the event always blocking your way when trying to catch feathers.

They mention Festivale days before the event, so it would make sense for them to mention it a day or more after event.

I hit a couple of mine because they ran in-between me and a feather right as I go to swing the net.

awww if so that is a little disappointing. It would be nice if they mentioned how much fun they had or how they made nice memories or how they hope Pave comes back. Perhaps even a silly story about one of the other villagers being clumsy at dancing stepping on people's toes or something.
well, maybe it is something Nintendo will consider in the future.

I thought the contrast of this was a little jarring too. They were so excited and happy dancing around yesterday, and it's kind of odd to seem them just go back to slowly walking today and forget that it happened.

In that sense, I think Festivale kind of highlighted one of the issues with the game - the villagers need a little more life or more activities to do on normal days.

I love how they interact with the Festivale Stage item - running over and dancing in the center of it. I wish there was more stuff like that in the game.

SAME. I didn't realize they were coming to throw confetti the first few times, I was like WHAT DO YOU WANT--

I could have sworn they mentioned other events previously? I thought they'd mentioned Turkey Day or something afterwards... Maybe I'm misremembering? Hmmmm

I wish that they did mentioned an event the day after. I thought they might've the day after Toy Day? But especially after a day of partying, it would be cute if they mentioned how tired they felt after all the dancing they did. It would make the game feel a little more alive.

Yeah... the lack of situational "memory" awareness is a symptom of a large oversight by Nintendo in my opinion. I'm sure it's easy for me to say from a non-programmer's standpoint but I have always wished that the villagers could have been made more aware of their surroundings and would make specific comments on locations or decorations etc. I recently spent about five hours working on creating a dream villa for Marshall and he didn't show an ounce of appreciation lol.

I would love if they had certain script dialogue for items too. I wish "spooky" items would trigger fear reactions and dialogue, like if they walked by a skull or skeleton, or heard K.K. Dirge in the background.

While it would be nice, I guess, I never really thought about it. It's not like I go around going "Wow, that was such a great Christmas yesterday." so I wouldn't expect my villagers to do the same. So I'm not really disappointed.

While I would have liked to see some mention, I don't think it's a big deal. So far, I think only Toy Day had them mention the events of the previous night, and that might be more because Christmas is a two-day event irl (Christmas Eve and then well, Christmas).

Big events (and some minor) already have lots of dialogue related to them, so I can understand not adding even more to it. We usually have dialogue for:

* Preparation of the event, a week or so before the event happens.
* During the event while outside
* During the event while inside their homes
* During the event at night/close to the end/after the end

And this involves at least 3 different pieces of dialogue for each personality on each category (for the last one I think it's only 1).

They will also comment on many things placed outside, so Spooky items will trigger a commentary related like Renée getting inspired to play a prank because a spooky lantern is a signal for mischief. I'm pretty sure they will say something about Festivale items and if not, they will at least use them (play the drum, dance on the stage, look at the lamps, take photos of the other things).

Comparing to the real world, it's also true that after a great party, I don't want to comment on all the things happened last night. At least not after the party, of course I'll tell my friends all the embarrassing they did under the effect of too much vacation juice, but that happens later.

But do you really want to hear your villagers remind you what you're doing, commenting on your outfit, and asking you if you have been in (insert villagers name here) home before for like the 100th time?

It would be cute if they talked about it the next day. I do love how the villagers that you don’t talk to on your birthday will wish you a belated birthday the next day. I think that’s a really cute detail. Wonder why they remember birthdays but not holidays...

Though not a huge deal, perhaps a letter in the mail the next day from one or two villagers would be a neat reminder.

They do though. There's a ton of different animal dialogue for the various different types of furniture displayed outside, including new dialogue for each new batch of seasonal/holiday items. You just usually have to talk to them a few times before they get around to commenting on their surroundings. It's sadly easy to never see most of it.

I don’t know how long you play per day and how much you talk to villagers but I’m pretty sure that’s not the only stuff they mention at least not to me. Also, isn’t that how pretty much real world conversations go? You do small talk and if you want to talk more you delve deeper, which is exactly how it works in this game. You keep talking to them and they start talking about more interesting stuff.

Beyond that, it’s understandable that there’s going to be repetitions and limitations to how much theyre going to say. Even the old games aren’t any better and I still play those everyday so I know they can get just as repetitive.
