When I restarted my island a few months after release, I TT'ed back to have the same start date on my new island, then played through everything that had been released already by then, but IIRC, that was just Bunny Day and May Day. Other than that, I did go back to get some of the wedding items I was missing recently. With both, I don't think I found it extra fun or anything... Even the first time I played through the events, I used guides to make sure I did everything correctly, so it's not like the experience of having already played the event once helped much.

I will say about the Wedding Season I think looking back it wasn't done right. I learned that you can just spam a lot of items and Reese and Cyrus act like its the best thing they ever saw despite the fact I filled up the room with just like 19 or 20 Wedding chairs. That is flaw since they don't seem to judge how it looks and they act like it doesn't matter. Also I never really understood the Heart Crystals. I get they were there to trade in Wedding items but because they made this last a month long I thought there would be more new items added each day, but apparently no.

So Wedding Season 2020 was just us filling up the room with random objects, taking a picture, getting heart crystals and thats that. You had to wait another day to do again. It was fun for a while but it got too repetitive and didn't really offer anything new as you kept playing daily.

I'm usually not a TTer, but since I've missed basically all events from late summer onwards, I am currently TTing. There are just too many great items I would miss out on otherwise and I think spooky items and some of the heart bouquets are essential for my dark island theme.
However, I don't find the events as interesting and fun as those that I played in real time.

I think if they implemented a more complex system, that unfortunately still doesn't mean it can recognize what is and isn't good design by human standards - just look at the HHA, both in NH and in previous games, and how the game isn't always great at identifying that just because a room doesn't contain furniture from the same set or the color tags given to the item don't match or whatever else, it might still look great. It might also be worth keeping in mind that the game is also for kids, who don't always make the best aesthetic choices. Plus, IMO it'd be more tedious to come up with a new design every day, unless they drastically shortened the event, but I think part of the reason it's so long is so you definitely have time to play through all the different sets. Personally, I was super busy IRL while playing through the wedding season in real time, so I couldn't even manage the bare minimum of spamming whatever two pieces matched the theme daily, which is part of why I had to go back to order things.

I TT quite frequently but only usually a day at a time to build something/move a building or if I'm trying to move out a villager and hardly ever TT backwards to before the current date so I never really go back to play past events, mostly because so many of them are so long ago now that I'd have to TT forwards a large amount to get back to the right date or spend a really long time TTing forward a couple of days at a time.

The only events I did TT back to were the halloween and turkey day events as I got back into the game early December so I didn't have to travel too far back for these ones and as I hadn't played them at all I wanted to try them out, something I'm glad I did as these are probably my favourite events so far in the game.

Im planning on going back soon to play through the fall events because i was taking a break from the game last year at that time so I missed halloween and thanksgiving. I'm planning on going back to those days tomorrow actually!

not really aha. i’ve gone back to events a few times (mainly festivale) to get more items and/or materials but i’ve never replayed any of them beyond that. :’)

nope ill just replay them when they come around again. i wonder if the may day event will be any different this year?

I have gone back and played bits of previous events. It has been mostly to get extra items or things I have missed the first time round. It is fun to complete events and get extras of your favourite items to decorate or to get the diy items you have missed. As you can’t get duplicate diy recipes there really isn’t any point repeating a whole event.

I never have, and never really felt the need to. But I'm not going to lie. Sometimes when there's "nothing else" going on, I kind of want to go back and play events just to enjoy something to do in the game besides the daily stuff. Don't get me wrong, I love the game, and I do enjoy redecorating my island. But there are days where I don't feel like doing that, and I wish there were other things to do, like playing hide-and-seek, or finding a new piece of furniture to replace something the villagers are looking to get rid of. So I don't know... it'd be kind of weird to go back to the fall or winter when it's just starting to really be spring, but it could be fun to do.

Well I went back and replayed Turkey Day and I Realized that I liked it a lot more than I thought I did last year. I wasn't too keen on it, but when I went back it was actually more enjoyable.

Maybe because you played it once, so you weren't all rush rush let's get everything so I can get the stuff? I bet you could find more enjoyment the second time around because of that.

I played it on a different user who was not that all experienced so it felt a lot more refreshing to retry it again.

I've done that before! I do it because I miss them in real life. I remember when the game's details were still speculation, and everyone was thinking that time travel wouldn't even be possible in this iteration of the game. I was really upset by that possibility because my life is very busy and hectic. I often miss real events when they're happening, and it was sad to me that I would be excluded from them just because I wouldn't be able to actually attend them in real time. Sometimes my academics take me away from the game for long periods of time, so I take a hiatus too. I'm really glad that it's possible to time travel for this reason. I don't want to have to miss out just because I'm not in the situation to play every day like some are.

I didn't time travel back to Festivale this year because I restarted the game, but I think I might do so because it actually looks super fun this year! I loved going back to Christmas/Toy Day.

Its a good idea to time travel back to events that you missed since they are no longer time locked. Thats a good thing about time travel is that you can go backwards in time to events you missed out just to experience it on what it was like.

I haven't actually. It feels weird to me to play an event when it's not actually happening irl. Something about it makes me feel taboo to play a Christmas event not during Christmas. Even though it's not taboo at all haha.

I haven't replayed any specific day events like Toy Day, Turkey Day, etc, but I've definitely time traveled back to prior seasons to get seasonal materials and recipes. I tt'd late last year to experience cherry blossom season on my new island. It was nice to get that experience for the first time since I picked up a new Switch in October. Anything I feel like I didn't get enough of I'm willing to time travel back to, like the wedding season items for example.
