i recently started a new island. my old island...well...i had to take a break from the game for real life reasons. i picked the game back up about a month or so ago and i Do miss my old island a little because of my villagers. i also did an insane amount of work on it.
now that im doing my second island you have just given me ideas about how to go about arranging it *thank you!*. i bought some graph paper the other day just so i could map it out correctly sooo is the custom pattern thing available online for people to use? if so please pm me with the addy for it!
also i didnt think the villagers homes could go on the beach so thats another thank you for the heads up! the houses are problematic for me, and because youve spent so much time in the game; is there a site that shows villagers homes and what they look like? the reason that i ask this is because right now i have 2 villagers with black houses, 1 villager that has a pastel house that doesnt go with anybody elses houses; and 4 of the same type and style of house. what i want to do is have the house colors match closely, but i dont want to keep booting villagers out and having new ones come in.

On my second switch I had an island called Autumn. It wasnt perfect but I put a lot of work in to it.

I restarted it because I wanted to move the river mouths.
I've got a new island on that switch now and it's going really well. I'm very happy with it.

But I still miss the one I deleted. It had so much potential that I will never get to see realised.
and the cutest little pond area.

But since you tried changing things on your first island before deleting it, in theory why I regret deleting shouldn't apply to you.

I know this is a thread on the New Horizons board, but I haven’t restarted on this particular game. However, I’ve restarted several times on City Folk and New Leaf. I have regretted it, but it obviously didn’t matter considering the fact that I kept resetting the town. I missed my original town that I couldn’t get back, and nothing could bring it back. I loved the thought of a fresh start, but I wanted to keep all of my progress. I don’t know what made me reset, but there was something making me. I kept my original island on New Horizons, and I don’t have any complaints. I love all of my dream villagers, and the current theme of my island. I also love my airport color and my native fruit. My only problem is having two south rivers is very difficult to work with for me, but that’s definitely not a deal breaker.

Its been over a month since I restarted my island and part of me is just feeling a bit let down that I lost everything on the old island, but then again I should be happy with my new island since I finally got to where I wanted my island to be like originally. It just came with a cost of doing everything all over again with a new fresh mindset.

I miss parts but usually I'm too satisfied with my new town to really miss my old one too much.

I’ve restarted only once and at the very beginning and it was a great choice! But sometimes I still miss my blue airport(now I have a yellow one and I hate it) and my beloved Goose, that I have never found again 😂
