Deleting New Horizons software updates?

I am asking this for a friend of mine. He is not fond of Bunny Day and he hates it so much, that he wants to just play on version 1.0.0 (which comes shipped on the cartridge). He is, however, worried that uncanny things will happen to his save if he tries loading it with eggs in his inventory.

So I am asking those who have tried it (or are willing to try):

What happens when you load a save file on an older update or version that has been played on with a newer update?

He won't get patches for many of the glitches that are being released though.

Not sure what happens, but keep in mind that if he reverts back hes going to have to deal with all of the glitches that were patched out already.

As long as he deletes items in updates, reverting to a previous version should cause no issues. However, there will always be risks.
