Did someone try to scam me or what happened?

My boyfriend sold Apple on Nookazon. This girl came, dropped the money and then went into the house. She was in there for a few minutes. She then walked out. Then walked in again.


Then it randomly went to the airplane loading screen and his character walked out of the airport. There was no "____ is going home" or a yellow screen that shows when there's a communication error... so uhhh what happened? Their money was still there but so was Apple and I can't contact them as they don't have any means of contact linked and they haven't reached out to me

Just wondering if there's a way to potentially scam a villager this way or something? Or any way in general for future reference...

I don't think so, I'm assuming she just left using the "-" button instead of going back to the airport. Do you get a "I've moved out" message when you try to enter Apple's house? If so, everything went according to plan.

Yeah but that usually brings up the prompt that someone is leaving. Nothing popped up at all. And no, Apple is still there can still enter her house.

Unh, weird then... I'm not very up to date on scamming methods and haven't experienced it myself but I'd assume you have very little risks in this situation... Maybe try to initiate a new sale with the person on Nookazon so you can reach out?

Yeah me either I wasn't sure if this was some kind of tricky method orrrr what lol I just assumed you can't ever get scammed as long as you close out of the game but idk wtf happened here . Yeah I relisted Apple and I'm gonna offer on one of her listings to get her attention!!

Haha I feel you I'm the same way. Whenever I use Nookazon or the ACNH Discord I just keep in mind that at anything suspicious I can just force close the game super quick, but if that happened to me I would have been completely clueless as to what happened or what to do haha.

Have you checked her Nookazon ratings, just in case?

I think the only time people would leave "quietly" is if they closed their game or their system went into sleep mode. They could have turned their game into sleep mode to quickly go back home, but the problem with that though is that it doesn't save like leaving the airport or - button does, it relies on the last autosave. Maybe they didn't know this or aware of the - button?

Nookazon really needs to have an onsite chat system in general, not just for "Make an offer". It's so annoying trying to communicate with someone if you don't want to friend them on discord or message them on twitter/email.

Hopefully you do get a hold of them somehow and get this situation straighten out.

If Apple is still there then she hasn't been successfully adopted I also hope this gets sorted out soon, it seems like the person was in a rush and wasn't meaning to scam you or anything!

Yeah I assumed the game was closed out somehow - either her Switch died or she closed the game? But usually that gives a yellow page with the communication error texts! Never seen the reset like this while online

And I totally agree! It's soooo lame they don't have a message feature unless you have an open offer with the person. It makes no sense honestly.

If that was the case I hope they see my offer so they can come back and get her because I feel so bad!!! I'm hoping it somehow glitched and she got Apple because I don't understand why she isn't contacting me back but I highly doubt it
