this has happened to me my whole life-- I meet people for the first time, and they tell me I have a familiar face and say they think we've met before.

the oddest time this occurred was when our friend hosted a cook-out for everyone to meet her Australian Aunt, who they had just picked up from the airport on her first visit to the USA. she meets me at this cook-out party, and says, "Oh, you look familiar, have we met before?" no, she wasn't being ironic. Uh hello, you're from the other side of the planet, NO we haven't met before!

I guess I'm either a generic looking person; or I was reincarnated many times in a short span before this life!

I was wondering:

--does this frequently happen to anybody else here?

I get this sometimes. I'm white, have brunette hair, average weight and height, and have normal styled hair so I get told I look just like other white girls with brunette hair all the time. I usually get the "you look just like (insert classmate)!!!" and I usually don't see much of a resemblance except that me and that other person are both white girls with average length brunette hair.

While my face has some unique features, I basically look like every other brunette white girl out there and people tend to point that out to me when they say I look like someone else when we really just share the same features :p

Lol I have felt like I look very "generic" as well! When I was in high school, someone stopped me in the cafeteria to take a picture of me cause they couldn't believe how much I looked like someone they knew. And at a friend's birthday party, someone was yelling the wrong name at me for like 5 minutes cause they thought I was someone else. And when I worked at Subway I was told I look like Carly Rae Jepsen, but I think that person was just confused.

That's pretty rad, and not really thankfully. But I have met many familiar people before, I always assume it's from either 1)My youth when I didn't remember or 2) from a dream. Even when I moved towns and was sure I'd never seen the before their image was seered into my brain, it's always a weird feeling because I don't even meet many people being a recluse. And I know it's been said you can't dream of stranger's faces but everyone in my dream never looks how they look in real life, they all look like other people I don't know, but in the dream I know they're that person. Except celebrities, who often play acting roles and I know they're just actors.. it's really weird. But it makes me think of the dream guy: whom I have not seen thankfully.

haha- you look unique to me! the yelling wrong name episode, yes-- one time I was touring Boston and some guy walking down the street thought I was a baseball player for the Boston Red Sox, he kept yelling about it.

some people thinking you look like someone they know or them saying you look familiar does not really make your face "generic".

I guess "common" is a better word, but it hardly feels different lol. This happens to me on a very regular basis. Not like a once a year thing.

No not really, but some people say that I look like a Lucy. I'm not sure if that's a compliment or not. I guess my appearance matches my name??

not really tbh but i am pretty generic looking so i don't know why people don't say i have a familiar face

people always tell me they thought they saw me somewhere but it was somebody else so i look similar to a lot of people i guess

No but I did see a girl in the audience of a Korean gameshow that I swore was my twin :lemon:

this happens to me a lot, when I first moved here 3 years ago people started telling me they've seen me at scents and things I've never gone to. I just started telling everyone they've met my d?ppleganger instead of me.
