do QR codes work like in New Leaf?

So basically in New Leaf if you scan a qr code as one of your design slots and then replace it with a different one in that space, anywhere you've put that design slot (on the ground, as your wallpaper in one of your rooms) will show up as the new design. Is it the same in HHD? Like if you lay down a path on a villager's yard and then later you replace that slot with a different qr will it stay the old design or will it show up as the new qr?

It's the exact same, in my experience.

As for my experience it's the same, it will replace if you redesign or scan over, but I've only checked this in a house that I was currently working on because I was trying to slightly alter a tile to make two different kinds but if you just redesign it it will change, I am not sure if you leave a house if it will save the design as is, or if you go back it will be changed. With all of the spaces you shouldn't need to load over the tiles though.
