Do villagers move from HHP to your own island?

Recently I got a thing saying a restaurant worker was no longer available so had been switched out (with Marina, who I think was the newest HHP resident). I recently had Queenie move in on my island, who I’m almost certain was the villager replaced in the restaurant. Has she disappeared from HHP to live on my island? And if so, has the house I designed her disappeared from HHP?

Also if this is the case, is there a way next time I have an opening, I can choose a villager to move to my island rather than a random one?

Unfortunately, no. You cannot invite HHP clients to your island.

Villagers can only be invited through mystery islands, campsite, adoption from other islands, amiibo, and a random move-in.

As for HHP, the villager's vacation home is still there. The villager you had given a job is just replaced by others.

Shouldn't you be able to reassign them to their role, though? Because I have Marlo on my second island. I met him first on the HHP island, made him a home, then moved him onto my main island. He's also the host at my ("his", it's called Marlo's) restaurant. IDK if I assigned him that role before or after he moved onto my island, but I don't recall ever having an issue with it?

Yeah, I think you can. I recall reading something about it. I haven't tried it myself since I didn't have this scenario.

Thanks for the help! I’m confused though - I’ve noticed now that Queenie‘s home is in fact still intact on HHP - but what caused her to be replaced in her job in the restaurant? Can prob find screenshots if necessary - thank you!!

It's just the game's way of having a villager taking over the job for her because she was busy "moving".

Also, if you have a villager who also works in HHP who got sick, someone will replace that villager. It's a nice touch actually.
