Do weeds “grow” over time?

Pretty straightforward question in the title ;ェ;
(I don’t mean new weeds appearing, but the smaller ones growing taller and denser)

For context: I cleared weeds that I ultimately want in an area, thinking I could always plant them again later on. Now it seems like only the little, low to the ground type will appear after planting, not the lush kind I need.
Are my plans ruined, or do weeds have growth cycles too?

How quickly do you mean though? Because I’ve had my eye on some for the last week, and didn’t pick up on any growth...

I time travel and they spread and seem to grow like wild fire. I always have to go on sprees of fixing up my town. And I don’t jump huge amounts of time.

I actually really love how the weeds look! I just want them to be decorative rather than just insane, its mainly just an issue on my top cliffs that I haven't gotten real access to without a ladder. My entire cliff was covered in about 120 of them ._. but yep, they're really beautiful and I absolutely love that they change per season!
