The feature I miss the most from Animal Crossing New Leaf was Tortimer Island, specifically, Club Tortimer. I'd spend hours on ACNL just going to the island and chatting with random strangers from all over the world. It was genuinely such an awesome experience, and I miss feeling that way. It was literally so fun for me, and I met people from countries like Canada, USA, Spain, France, Italy, UK, Japan, Argentina, etc.

Does anyone else miss this feature? I'd genuinely like to be able to do this again in ACNH somehow, meeting people for all over the world was so fun for me, and I'd really hope it was added to ACNH.

What are your experiences with Club Tortimer? Honestly I met such wonderful people there

Yes! I loved this feature and sometimes I go back to New Leaf just for this. I spent many hours playing the game there with people I didn't know.

I miss this because I like the character and I really enjoyed the mini games. I guess they think the airport replaces the boat and they simply replaced Tortimer's island with Harvey's Portrait studio.

I only used Club Tortimer once, was much to shy to play with strangers back then. Luckily though the only time was with this one fellow from, I think it was Canada? They were really nice and friendly though. Played minigames and went diving together, once I started getting tired from all the socializing we bid a farewell and wished each other the best, because we knew we'll never run into each other again.

It was a cool experience, hope whoever that was is still doing well.

I actually did not use it as much because I was intimidated and shy. I did island tours with friends, so I kind of has no use for club tortimer other than getting the striped swimsuit.

Idk, chatting in-game works as long as it's short sentences but it's also frustrating when you're one letter over. So I don't enjoy it as much especially around strangers. I don't think I'd use a similar feature if created.

honestly, i didn’t use club tortimer very much as the idea of not knowing who i’d run into gave me anxiety lmao but i’d totally be down for trying it again in new horizons! and plus, the tours were super fun and i’d love for those to come back, too!

Yes. I miss......

Wearing a royal crown, and giving it to a random stranger.

Catching a sea bass, and excitedly telling everyone there that I caught a shark, then show off my sea bass.

Getting annoyed when a player asks me to go on a tour, then they jump off the seat right before take off. There I am, doing a tour alone, and I didn't even want to go in the first place, I was just being nice.

My first weird experience. A player wouldn't stop hitting me with a net. He chased me everywhere and scared off the bugs and fish. I was appalled at first, then I grabbed an axe and chased him for at least 5 minutes straight. Good times.

Allowing younger players to come to my town to get a couple of blue roses, so they could start growing their own. Then making them leave right after, cause you can't trust them without supervision.

Arriving on the Island to find that the person there has left me a maze of holes to walk through, and there being a bag of bells at the end of the maze.

Another time, I arrived to see a girl sitting on a stump wearing a royal crown and demanding that I bring her things. I, of course did it, cause she was royalty.

It was also fun playing island games and buying rare items.

I definitely miss Club Tortimer. My best friend and I enjoyed going out to Tortimer Island to catch beetles and sharks and to play the tours. Its absence is sorely felt in New Horizons, as there's nothing to really do when visiting someone's island other than check out their Nook's Cranny and Able Sisters and then just head back to your own island to let the other person do the same. We hope that eventually they will add Club Tortimer, or at least some way to play minigames like that. I would also like for them to bring back the more simplistic wetsuits that were available in New Leaf as I preferred that color selection to what we have now.

I don't really have fond memories of playing with random people. I would only catch beetles and sharks on my own personal Tortimer Island, or when playing with my best friend, rather than risk some stranger griefing me like people would encounter. The only reason I'd visit the online version would be to check if any of the rare wetsuits, items, or the silver axe were on sale. I'd then purchase them if so and get out as fast as possible without interacting.

I only really used Club Tortimer to collect those rare island shop items, but I did enjoy running into people every now and then and doing tours with them.

I loved Club Tortimer both for online play and just playing by myself. I didn’t use it all the time, but I thought the mini games provided a different pace to an otherwise leisurely game. And I loved that I could meet other people without the worry of them destroying my town.

A lot especially to actually have something to do with friends again. I also just really miss Kapp'n and his boat songs.

Yess, so much!! I cant even put it ino words. All the fun mini games, looking for those exclusives like the toy hammer and silver axe, meeting with people. I just loved all of it. I think it would be fine without exclusives since not everyone would want to search for them.

This feature of New Leaf was a big deal for me too. I remember before I got a switch and played NH, I was on NL every other day improving my town. It's sad that this feature isn't there anymore as I remember trading bells for royal crowns on the island with others xD

being able to meet random players on tortimer was interesting! i'd be in a lobby with japanese players but the language barrier didn't stop us from having fun

i also gave away free bells to players later on as well, they were all really happy

I’d love to try this in New Horizons! It would be really cool if they made use of the second dock on our islands, and Kapp’n could take us to a larger Nook Miles Island and people could socialize together.

ahhh i love love love club tortimer, i also agree that is was such a fun experience meeting people from all around the world, especially since most of the time they’d be speaking in a language i couldn’t understand and we’d all be confused. good times.

I hardly used Club Tortimer, but I do miss farming for rare, valuable creatures. Summer is definitely the best time to do all of that, and I want do be able to do it without time traveling.
