I need play coins to complete puzzles and streetpass quest 2. Will changing my 3ds time affect my game in any way?

Does changing the 3DS time affect the in-game time on my NL copy?

Pretty sure that it does if you do not change the time back before you launch ACNL. I think ACNL just stores an offset to the time it reads from the 3DS system clock when time travelling.
That is what I remember from ACWW when we played it on the DS.
But since I have not adjusted my system clock or time-traveled on ACNL I could be wrong.
