That if you receive a "warning" they take 20 tbt bells from you into some mysterious land? Like don't
call it a warning then :p if it's a warning, you get a talkin' to. If I use my phone in class, for example- I would either 1.) Receive a warning
or
2.) Get it taken away.

1.) Would result in "Get off your phone and next time I see it, it's going to the office" Not "Give me that, but take this as a warning."

No, I will not take that as a warning- I'm now getting my property (or in TBT's case- money/tokens/bells/whatever) taken.
Who does it even go to?
I hope they know it's stolen.
Even if it's from a website, it's not the website's money.
(EX: You're working, getting paid, and you cuss, and your boss is like "Hey you cussed." and takes $10 out of your paycheck. They're'nt allowed to do that XP )

Also locking threads/deleting them without consent, like I took the time out of my day to write all of that. (Little or a lot, doesn't matter) If you were building a block house I wouldn't be like "Hey, that's a red block, red blocks aren't allowed [or whatever the rule against blocks]" And pushed the house down and took all of the blocks all together. Not just the red ones [the rule breaking part of the post] but all of it [the whole. entire. post]

Taking 20 TBT is a consequence. The consequence just makes your warning more significant because something was taken away. Think of it as when your teacher writes your name on the chalkboard to show you've misbehaved. It's a nonverbal warning that you were not following the rules. At least, that's how I see it..

In particular, virtual currency does not have legal tender status in any jurisdiction.

For starters, your analogy doesn't line up. Your boss cannot take the money out of your check because that money is legal tender. TBT Bells are not a legal tender. The mods can do whatever they want with the money. The board gives out bells on the assumption that you will follow the rules. If you do not follow the rules, they have every right to revoke what they gave you. It's kind of like a ticket.

They can lock threads if they deem them against the rules. If I were to make a post saying "**** piss **** **** ****sucker mother****er fart turd and ****" (bonus points if you get the reference), no matter how long it took me to write that, then they have every right to lock it.

Proddc, you come to this forum of your own volition. If you don't like how things are run, then you can leave.

you can leave now

It's their forum lel

pretty sure the people who own the site have control over everything within the site
i'll see you around-- that is if your account still exists

and its my thread :p you can leave as stated earlier

It's not though, you cannot own anything on the forum, since everything is owned by the one paying the bills, if they decide to take down the forum then they can, just like you don't own a park just because you go there.

Just because you go into a shop, the shop doesn't belong to you. If said shop doesn't like the way you behave they will have you removed, which in turn makes life more comfortable for the rest of their customers.

Doesn't make me mad, makes me grateful we have mods that clear up other people's mess!

This is a really weird topic... I lost 480,000 TBT Bells when we moved over to TBT 2.0...
I did not complain because at the end of the day, it is just virtual money and plus, I have gone on to ACBay now as a member of staff. ;)

So effectively, be happy you just lost 20 TBT Bells, I didn't even do anything wrong to lose mine.

I reported you for being rude and making a useless thread. You clearly deserved that warning and have no reason to be angry at a punishment. You forced me off your thread in a rude manner with no good reason, and the thread was not even valid. It's just virtual, get over it. You can earn them back easily with a couple of posts. Why are you even doing that in the first place? We take the rules seriously, and you should too.

This is just a soft version of what happened. See how this works?
