I didn’t know that you can teach cats tricks until I saw a random video on how to train your cat to do tricks. I only had my cat, Kikkomon at the time so I already knew she wouldn’t care to learn any tricks with me because she’s getting older and prefers to sleep all day.
Last year, we decided to adopt a new kitten and I was determined to teach her some tricks. Luckily for me, she was really treat motivated so it didn’t take long for me to teach her how to sit and high-five! She’s always so focused on the treat that it takes her a couple of tries to do it but she comes around. It’s so cute!
Did you know you can train cats to do trick?
What are some fun tricks you've taught your cat, if any?
I didn't outright train my one cat but she knows exactly how we play. I'll throw hair elastics and she'll know the exact pattern I throw them in, even if I switch it up, she'll go in the regular pattern hehe.
I don’t have a picture of it, but my mom’s cat will bump her nose to any drink if you hold it up to her and say “cheers.” It’s the most adorable thing.
One of my cats does this neat trick where he screams at us at 6 am, even on weekends, because he wants us to open the door so he can leave the room. We've tried leaving him out in the house but he'll cry at some point to be let in. Lol can't win
