I didn’t know that you can teach cats tricks until I saw a random video on how to train your cat to do tricks. I only had my cat, Kikkomon at the time so I already knew she wouldn’t care to learn any tricks with me because she’s getting older and prefers to sleep all day.

Last year, we decided to adopt a new kitten and I was determined to teach her some tricks. Luckily for me, she was really treat motivated so it didn’t take long for me to teach her how to sit and high-five! She’s always so focused on the treat that it takes her a couple of tries to do it but she comes around. It’s so cute! 🐾

Did you know you can train cats to do trick?
What are some fun tricks you've taught your cat,

if any?

I didn't outright train my one cat but she knows exactly how we play. I'll throw hair elastics and she'll know the exact pattern I throw them in, even if I switch it up, she'll go in the regular pattern hehe.

One of my cats does this neat trick where he screams at us at 6 am, even on weekends, because he wants us to open the door so he can leave the room. We've tried leaving him out in the house but he'll cry at some point to be let in. Lol can't win

My cat plays fetch with me 😊 I wouldn’t mind teaching her other things she knows a lot of the commands you teach a dog like sit or stay.
Awww.. this makes me miss my childhood cat, Ginger!! She also played fetch!! My Dad would do his paperwork every night, back when people used paper from cash registers and calculators and he would crumple up the paper, throw it and she would always bring it back!

This is an extremely old picture of me with Ginger! This was when she was getting older. She was like a stuffed doll... so relaxed!!

My cats were all feral cats, they don't react like other cats, it took them years just to meow and sometimes they just open the mouth with no sound. Some did funny things though. I used to have some who liked playing with balls like dogs, or brought me toys to play. One bouncing of the walls or playing hide and seek. Now I have one who throws hair bands. I tried to show them how to open the door but it was hard, some finally got it, some still wait in front of the door even if it's slightly open. Not really a trick but when it's grooming time, they all wait in line for their turn.

She let you hold her like a baby!
Yes!! My new cat loves that too!! I just don't have anyone to take a picture of me holding her since it takes both of my arms to hold her! She immediately tucks into my chest and goes to sleep purring!

I often wonder where she came from, since she was a stray rescue. I like to imagine the scenario of a family with a kid that held her like a baby, which is why she loves it. But then I start thinking too much and wondering if there is a nice family out there missing their kitty! I adopted her from a very reliable rescue that does their due diligence to find the owners, so I try to think I did a good thing by taking her in.

I've gone off topic, this isn't about cat tricks... sorry!

Our cat doesn't really know any tricks, but she is REALLY frisky and wild despite being an indoors cat. Can find her in the most random of places from time to time including on top of my minifridge and the trash can, lmao.
