Doing Freebies to practice!

Hi everyone! I am currently doing an internship in a little video game company in Portugal and I am doing concept art for them. This means I can focus more on my art than I could when I was at school. Now and then I do breaks and start drawing to practice. I have my own personal stuff to draw but I would love to draw for free for others in this forum.
Please give me references as clear as possible so the result is good and describe your character. I also love working with music so if you have any song you know that describes your character let me know. I feel that inspires me

Oh god no I really wish there was a beautiful style to them! I'm learning though! Mine is really terrible but they are improving! They have to be better than my first drawing at the start of the week! Hahaha

Whoa! They are good. Of course they need practice but I like them. I can see you creating your own style. Keep at it and you will do better than me hehe XD

That's nice of you to say. I know it will just take a lot of practice. I never took notice of art before this site- I could never do it so I never even attempted but after seeing you lovely artists work I began to appreciate it more

I use paint tool sai. Do you know the program? Is a program for windows made for drawing. It's really good. The only problem it that if you can't afford it well you can't have it. Unless you search for others ways to get your hands on it If you have a mac there's also ways to install it using parallels for example. If you going to draw in a computer you also need a drawing table and you need some time to get used to drawing in it. I sure did If you're asking technique (if you aren't, it stays here so others see it) I first do the lines using the scketch pencil. I sketch alot until I get the result and then draw in a new layer the definitive lines. Then I color it using a bunch of layers for each color (I use the color pencil). Then I add shading using lots of layers again for each color (I use blur for the shading but you don't need to). If you ever use paint tool sai is important to use layers. They are your friends I am no specialist but this is my little advice.

So nobody requests so I decided to show you all the drawing I did yesterday of my two original characters Snow and Bear. Snow in my original story is the goddess of the puppets and toys. She acts very child like, she is a kid after all and was inspired by a snow white puppet I had when I was little. Half of her is good the other half is a disaster (she lost hair and her clothing and is slowly breaking apart). In my story this physical breaking represents her psychological breaking thanks to depression. All the goddess in my story have depression. Bear is Snow loyal guard and companion. He's grumpy and very strong. He was inspired in another toy I had of a bear that people put on their door when they are on the bathroom that's why he has the busy writing on his shirt. I decided to take inspiration from that and make him more intimidating.

I have watched a lot of videos of people using it and that so I know what youre talking about haha how long did it take you to get to the level youre at? I know once I finish college in a month I will have a lot of time to practice stuff like that

Well I started drawing since I was 8 years old but not as frequent as I should that's why I didn't have significant evolution over the years. I love drawing and I wish I could draw better but I work for it very slowly so I slowly evolve. You know I don't want it to become a burden. I get tired of things if I do them alot. I had art classes when I was a teenager and got bored of drawing because people were evaluating my work and I was doing it so much that when I had the chance I stopped it for some years only to come back to it recently.
I have some drawing to show my evolution so you understand it better. Sorry ahead if I talk to much. I started with traditional art since when I was little I didn't have the money to buy one and didn't even know what a drawing table was.
This is a drawing I did when I was 8 I believe.

When I was 18

Now I started to use the drawing table when I was 20 I think. Here's one of the first drawings I did.

When I was 21

and now. I draw like you been seeing.

The truth is when I was 16 thanks to that training I did. I draw really well realistically. Now I draw worse because I stopped drawing for awhile but I don't regret it. It took me around one week to get used to the drawing table. I was also really excited about it and had the time so I practice a lot with it. That's all. Hope I was helpful.

Ohhh really? I wished I had taken notice and at least tried to draw when I was younger but i think hats because i didnt really have the materials to learn- no one ever told me about the bases when drawing a person / character- i only found out how to go abput drawing a head and body etc.
yeah it shouldn't be a burden- slow evolution is good. You don't talk too much its cool to see how you have evolved. If I could even manage to draw like that when you was 10 id be really pleased hahaha nevermind the rest of the years haha the one of the first ones on your tablet is really good!!

Yeah you've been really helpful thank you. I'm not sure whether to go about getting a tablet. I mean I wanna work on it alot more hand drawing, getting proportions right and all so I wouldn't get one till at least after that

Yeah. Don't feel pressure and go as you like. I stayed in traditional drawing many years so yeah do as you want. If you don't feel like drawing take a break and if you want to draw take that chance and do it. I was really nice talking with you though. Good luck.
