Welcome to today's Discussion of the Day! Today is June 2nd, 2006 and the topic is DS-Lite.

So shocking news with Wal-Marts major mess up did anyone get a Lite? If not are you going to? Only a few days to go so you if you have been saving up you should get one. Do you think it is really worth it or do you think it is all hype? Discuss anything that involves the Lite from E3 to Things You saw here, just please remember to follow the rules.

I think the DS Lite is overrated. Nintendo will do anything to get you to buy more. I'm fine with the DS.

Eh. I'm getting in becasue my DS has been through hard times. (Falling of dresser stand mutiple times) >_<

You guys are up early today

Anyways, I might get a DS Lite if my current DS brakes or someting. And if I were to get a DS Lite, I would get the black one. Imported of course

:D

Yah, I'm the one posting all of these because I'm on the earliest.

:) I cureently get on 2:30 PST

:p (5:30 for me).

Anyways... I will not be getting a DS Lite because I already have a DS. It's like with the PS2 when they made a new, smaller version of it. It would be pointless to get if you already have the original (IMO).

I'll never understand this, I swear...

How is it that the same hardware in a different plastic case sells so much? The only hardware change, basically, is the added brightness levels...

Edit - And the battery life has been drastically improved.

This is another rip-off aka another SP. GBA was great and then SP came out for no reason, this is the same, so I'm not wasting my money.

I get up every day at 7:20 or earlier and go on TBT.

How much has the battery life been extended?

That's good! That might be a reason for me to get it.

Well I'm proably giving my normal ds to my neighbor. She doesn't have one. Than I'm proably getting a Lite.

 are you giving it to them for free

A few things first.

1. She is like 5 or 6 years old.
2. She complains a lot about not having a ds.
3. I'm a Boy Scout. We are supposed to do really genorus things.

Any way Koehler here is the offical info from Nintendo.
Let the cool look of the Polar White DS Lite brighten your day

This Lite is heavy on features. The new Nintendo DS Lite shines in the U.S. on June 11, and with it costing as low as $129.99, picking one up is a no-brainer.

Available in the Polar White color, Nintendo DS Lite sports two brighter screens with four brightness settings. The powerful backlight brings your DS games to life like never before.

In addition to the brighter screens, Nintendo DS Lite is two-thirds the size of the original Nintendo DS and more than 20 percent lighter. It's sleek and powerful. Although the DS has undergone some major changes with the Nintendo DS Lite, you'll appreciate the minor changes as well. The built-in microphone resides in the middle of DS Lite and not at the bottom. We've moved the Power button away from the Control Pad and placed it on the side of the machine. Also, we've added a larger stylus to give you a better grip on gameplay.

If that isn't enough, Nintendo DS Lite sports a longer battery life, up to 19 hours depending on the brightness setting you choose. Of course, the new handheld still plays all the Game Boy Advance titles available in addition to games made specifically for Nintendo DS. And the built-in Wi-Fi lets you play wirelessly against nearby friends, or you can play online against gamers from around the world with Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection.

Awesome games, great enhancements and an incredible price makes Nintendo DS Lite will be your best acquisition of the year.
