I apologize if this is the wrong place to put this. The museum didn't seem right since I wasn't 'sharing what I made'. lol

I just received a Veikk A15 Pen Tablet for drawing. I downloaded Krita, as I figured the quick, free software would help me learn how to use a tablet. I've been using my phone so long it's kinda awkward.

Now I'd like to ask if:

1. Do you have any tips for using a drawing tablet efficiently?
2. Do you use or have used Krita? What are the things I should know?
3. What's a better software I should invest in for the future (after I'm through with Krita)?

Thank you!

i use a tablet but it's an old bamboo one from wacom (it's great and cheap but takes a bit to get used to as you have to look at the computer to see what you are drawing). all i can tell you is just goof around with it and play before you start to actually put alot of effort in or you are going to get frustrated real quick and it will ruin the wonderful time that can be had.

i don't use krita so i can't help there. but if you ever get the chance i highly recommend paint tool sai as a program, i used the sketchbook pro the tablet came with and it was ok for just drawing, but sai is amazing for both color and drawing. again it's always best to play with the programs and tablet first to figure out what dose what and also you tend to find some sweet looking combos just goofing off just be sure to try and remember them.

i hope you have tons of fun and can't wait to see your stuff if ya post it.

Thanks for the advice!

I've been messing with the controls, and it's easier than I thought. I'm giving it the time and work- no way I'm quitting well I'm ahead. lol

As for Kita, I ended up checking out Medibang thanks to Antonio below. It's way better than Krita, in my opinion. The interface is clean, simple, and all-around easier to use. I've made a few doodles I'm super happy with. In the end, the tablet and the program top my phone any day.

I totally plan on posting art here when I need feedback. For now, I'm going to take a while to practice and polish my experience. Thanks again for your help!
