I'd never think that when I bought Animal Crossing I'd be so hooked. Sure, playing Wild World was a daily, hours upon hours deal, but that's nothing compare to how much time I've spent in New Leaf.
So far I've logged about 170+ hours into it according to my Activity Log and I'm nowhere close to putting it down. I play when I'm home... a lot. I play at my boyfriends house (probably more than I should), I played it today at the mall at the food court when I was eating my Chik-Fil-A (a very nice man who got my attention afterwards mentioned how into the game I was), but nothing compares to the time and attention I've put into finding dream villagers.
I got hooked to the forum instantly from a google search. That was the first time I saw the little AC pixels. I went back to the site to try and find the source of the pixels and I realized a lot of people compared "Current villagers" to "Dream Villagers" and that piqued my interest more. I soon found myself looking at a picture list of AC villagers and picking out the one's that struck my fancy. I came up with a comprehensive list and then made my account and started trading away. I was a total newb the first week. I did manage to get some posts in and some bites on my dreamie line. I then realized that some villagers are MUCH harder to get than others, and then I took into consideration that different personality villagers suggest different PWP and I rethought my list.
I kept Fuschia, the only one I've decided to keep since I started trading. I've gathered some random villagers through other pools and I've gotten rid of some meaningful villagers, such as Tangy and -sniff- Groucho. I was really remorseful he didn't get picked up by anyone, he was a cuddly big bear after you broke past his cranky exterior. I've always wanted Zucker and he's an extremely hard one to just get, but thankfully the day I traded off Blaire, he came into my campsite. It took a while to convince him to move but I did it! WOO!
Moving on, I've never participated in a forum but once I realized that these people were talking my language, I had to stay updated. The villager market is a fast paced, high money one. I can only imagine what it would take to get Marina, which will probably be my final dreamie. I may have to rethink her and go with a different normal if worst comes to worst.
I'd like to thank the people who have helped me and the people who still are. There can be some ruthless players, but there are also the really nice and easy ones. I've gotten a few dreamies from giveaways and I couldn't feel more lucky and appreciative. I am getting a dreamie before I knew what a dreamie was as a giveaway and it's such a pleasant surprise!
All in all once all the dreamie work is done I get to casually play and HOPE that no villager decides to move, and if they do, I shall stop them!
Thanks again to everyone who's been nothing but nice to me on here, I didn't think I could be part of an online community so quickly but I feel as if I am. You guys rock, and I hope you get all the dreamies you desire as easily as I am.
As always, Mayor Shelby.
