DS-Wii Transfer Help

Can someone help me figure out how to transfer my DS character to Wii?

I go onto Download play but nothing shows up.

I'm assuming a lot of people don't know since most started new

My friend transferred, he said you have to go download the moving van program onto your DS, whatever that means ._.

You're supposed to go onto DS Download play and wait for the Moving Van to show up but nothing shows up on my DS. Is it a bad connection between my DS/Wii or can you not transfer if you already started new?

I have the same problem,It doesn't detect the DS
