Today, I logged onto ACNL with one goal in mind: to pay off the donations for the museum renovations.
Then, earlier tonight, Ribbot asked me to help get signatures for a petition -- ding, ding, ding! New goal: Get the signatures and obtain Ribbot's picture!
So I rushed around like a crazy person, trying to post a thread in the Train Station forum in hopes that someone would let me go to their town, and someone did.
Now, honestly, Idk whether or not I should mention names here because on one hand, it's free advertising, but on the other, it's a pretty big invasion of property. So I'll just stick to the describing the town.
It was probably only the second or third town I've visited since I got the game back in August, and none of the other towns I'd been had put down tiling or anything like that. I really had no idea what to expect. The town was beautiful, though. There was tiling and flowers and decorations and fruit EVERYWHERE. There was so much fruit, I couldn't even figure out which one was the native fruit.
I was in awe.
Hands down, it makes the list of the Top 10 Towns I Wish My Town Could Look Like Someday.
So I started wondering through the town, trying to keep to the paths because as I said before, there were flowers EVERYWHERE and I do mean, EVERYWHERE. And to add to the horror of what might happen if I ruined this person's flowers -- we've all heard the horror stories of angry trolls on the Wifi -- the flowers were hybrids. I don't think I've ever walked slower through a town in my life.
The town seemed pretty empty, despite the number of houses -- there had to be nine or ten villagers there. I thought I was going to have a hard time getting signatures at first because of that, but then I found a house with smoke coming out of the chimney. It belonged to a little bunny named Francine. Lately, I've been hearing a lot about Francine in the forums and it's easy to see why, she's cute and hilarious.
I also met Mira there and a couple other well-known villagers. It was fun to see so many of them in one place. The town's mayor is extremely lucky to have them.
Just as I was getting the last signature from Mira, though, the other player asked me, "Do you have Daisy?"
I froze. Do I have Daisy -- for what? Who is Daisy -- what would I need her for?
I responded. "The villager?"
I had assumed that Daisy was some little known villager that the other player was trying to get rid of and decided to see if I would take her.
It was probably one of the most awkward moments of my life when the other player explained that she meant she wanted to know if I had Daisy's signature for the petition.
I got out of the town as soon I as could and never looked back, though I can certainly say I will never forget my visit there.
When I got back to my town, I ran over to Ribbot's as fast as I could without actually running. I gave him the signed petition and he thanked me. Then he gave me...A pop-up book -_-
Honestly, at that moment, I thought about trying to throw him out of the town, but he has been forgiven and remains on my list of dreamies. I can't wait until the day I do actually get a picture from him.
Til then, I guess all I can hope for is that my other travels are even more interesting than what I experienced tonight. As for the town I went to, I'll give it 8/10 peaches (Unknown's native fruit) for the villagers, beautiful flowers, and friendly and inviting mayor.
