Well recently I've been starting to mess around with Gimp again and I have a small question.

What is the best possible way to save a file and keep it's layers? (ex... PNG, JPG, GIF)

The best and only way for full quality with keeping all it's layers is xcf, the gimp default, I believe. The only other way is gif, but it dumbs down the quality. Most places don't host .xcf images.

Any other format, such as PNG, will merge all layers together.

Ok. I'm proably gonna save 2 versions of every image one xcf to edit and one png to host.
