I don't know if this thread already exists, but I'll make a fresh new one anyways.

Personally, I really like Ghost and Ice types. Ghost is immune to Normal and Fight type moves, though super effective against itself. Ice type has four weaknesses, but it also has 4 strengths against some very common types like Flying and Grass. I also tednd to like Ghost and Ice type pokes more anyways (I'm actually considering getting Froslass, idk how I haven't ever had one before tbh).
I also really like the Bird type fron Gen 1, I like to jokingly call the Flying type Bird type a lot cause it just sounds really funny to me :p

Whats your favorite poke type and why? (Poll will be posted soon)

Ghost is my favorite overall type though Kricketune (a bug) is my favorite overall pokemon

Most of my top 10 are ghost types and I can't really think of a ghost type I don't like

I love the Ice Type. My favorite moves are Ice moves. And that is the type that casts the Freeze status condition.

Dragon and fire types. I’ve always loved dragon Pok?mon, even after they got snubbed come generation six by the introduction of fairy types. My favorite Pokemon went from being Hydreigon to Naganadel. <3

EDIT: As for fire types, it’s just the starter I choose in most games with one or two exceptions.

EDIT #2: Also, Reshiram is bae. Give me Reshiram and truths over a derpy-looking Bowser Pokemon in the form of Turtonator any day of the week.

Ghost is definitely my favorite type. I honestly can't think of a ghost type Pok?mon I dislike.

I think there are a lot of lame ghost types. Rather, ghost dual types. The "here's an inanimate object that is half ghost type" is weak to me. Looking at you, Pokemon like Palossand, Vanilluxe, Chandelure, Voltorb, Klefki, Klink line, Chimecho, Trubbish...those types. And a lot of them are half-ghosts.

There are a lot of Pokemon I'll never understand. Is Binnacle two different Pokemon living on the same rock? What is Dugtrio? Is there any way to redesign Jynx that won't make me so uncomfortable?

Anyways, I know this isn't a "worst Pokemon designs" thread, but this stuff bothers me!

Ya gotta learn to appreciate the creativity. But I do agree that Binnacle and Jynx are kinda weird lol

We live in a fantastic world where we don't have inanimate objects that come to life. But we do have a ton of flora and fauna that would make for interesting Pokemon. Honestly, I look at a Pokemon like Vileplume and think, "Wow, someone thought they could turn rafflesia into a Pokemon. Cool!" It doesn't bother me that there are so many electric mice Pokemon, because there are a bunch of different types of mice and rats.

But the idea that there is an entire "species" of ghost that thought, "I could best haunt people as a sand castle" is just something I'll never be able to wrap my head around. Or is it the ghost of destroyed sandcastles?

Rock creatures like Boldore or Graveler, cool. I can get behind that. Sentient key rings...I just don't know. Is it just a sentient ring? Does a person add his or her own keys? Why do the keys look like they've come from different ages? How did the Pokemon? Was the modern pin and tumbler lock invented when some ancient caveman looked at a Klefki?

Psychic is probably my number 1 favorite type. I like a lot of the psychic Pokemon. I always have a psychic Pokemon in my team.

I want to like ice type, because there's some great ice type designs, but ice is overall so bad to use. It's too weak to some of the most common types.

Water! Most of my favorites are water types (tbf there's just a lot of water types in general), it's a solid type both offensively and defensively, and my most viable competitive team is a mono-water team. I'm not really sure how that happened since I mostly made it as a joke but I seem to do worse if I try to add more variety to it but oh well.
Psychic and electric are also great.

Personally, I love fairy, poison, and dark types! I feel as though they have some of the coolest Pokemon possessing their types so it's just an obvious choice for me to make. Sylveon is an absolute monster and can be built bulky or offensive - destroying everything that stands in its way with a choice specs hyper voice.

Fairy Type, most of my favorite pre-gen 6 Pokemon ended up either getting this as a dual type or completely changing into it.

Steel was my favorite before Fairy.

Then two other types I like a ton are Psychic and Electric.

Flying is my favorite Pok?mon type because a lot of the Pok?mon I like are part flying like Butterfree, Charizard, Gyarados, and Sigilyph. It just stinks that Butterfree is only good if you spam sleep powder. I don't like to do that because it seems cheap to me, but Butterfree has too many weaknesses.

I also like a lot of the grass pokemon. Cacturne, Roserade, and Victribel look really cool to me.

For me probably normal and electric :p

fairy for sure! i always liked the cute fairy types, my favorite is sylveon but i also like the fire and ice types ( fennekin and its evolutions and glaceon as my other top tree) i always have them on an x or y team

Dragon. Even as a kid, I thought Dragon types were bad*** as all hell. When I first started playing (around the time of Ruby and Sapphire), there were very few Dragon types, and most of them were either impossible to obtain (FireRed and LeafGreen weren't out at the time so getting Dragonite was out of the question) or were very hard to find or obtain (with the exception of Altaria and Vivabra/Flygon) so that made them even more special to me at the time. Now, while there's no shortage of Dragon types in the new Pokemon games, and while they did add the Fairy type to counter Dragons in Gen 6, I'm still very much nostalgic for and love Pokemon like Dragonite, Kingdra, Flygon, Salamence, Garchomp, Haxorus, Hydreigon, etc. and will probably always love these beasts.

Water is probably my favourite type. I'd imagine if I were a gym leader I'd be a Water Type. I also like electric and dragon types

Normal, Grass, Psychic and Ice.

Grass, Psychic and Ice because I feel they're the most useful outside of battle. Grass you can summon vines and stuff to help, Ice to freeze stuff, and Psychic to move stuff around. Normal is just a back up type that I really like since they don't really restrict them to learning a certain type of attack so they're pretty useful as well.
