I’m not a fan of books and haven’t read any in years, so I’m just going to say the Captain Underpants series and call it a day since I remember greatly enjoying reading those books when I was a kid. Lots of crude humor and drawings, kind of charming in its own unique way.

Almost Transparent Blue, Sixty-nine (Ryu Murakami)
The Dharma Bums, On the Road (Jack Kerouac)
Memoirs of Hadrian (Marguerite Yourcenar)
Death in Venice (Thomas Mann)
Spring Snow, The Temple of the Golden Pavillion, Forbidden Colours (Yukio Mishima)

I love to read. It’s hard to choose favorites. Most of these are books I grew up reading and still absolutely love.
In no particular order:
  • The Princess Bride by William Goldman
  • The Hunger games trilogy
  • The Bible
  • Harry Potter series
  • Most anything by Roald Dahl: Matilda, Charlie and the chocolate factory, the twits, the BFG are among my favorites
  • The Chronicles of Narnia
  • Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland
  • The original Nancy Drew series Books 1-56
  • Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
  • The Enchanted Forest Chronicles by Patricia C. Wrede
  • The Ramona Quimby Books by Beverly Cleary
  • Macbeth (yes I know it’s technically a play but it has words I can read so I’m counting it as a book)
  • The Little house on the Prairie books by Laura Ingalls Wilder
  • The Percy Jackson series and The Heroes of Olympus series by Rick Riordan

Sorry for the long list I love books...

I read a lot, and i am the kind of person who can reread a book I like again and again. I really like sci fi/ specMy favorites change pretty often based on my mood and where I am in life, etc, but here are some that come to mind:

October Daye series, by Seanan McGuire (anything by her is pretty spectacular, actually)

The Others series by Anne Bishop

The Just City by Jo Walton - this is the first in a trilogy and it is excellent

Seveneves by Neal Stephenson (big fan of him in general. Also really like anathem)

His Dark Materials series by Phillip Pullman

To say nothing of the Dog by Connie Willis

Aim Straight and the Fountain and Press Vaporize by Elizabeth Young (this is poetry)

Devotions by Mary Oliver

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

Emma by Jane Austen

for ultimate comfort reading I read Frederica, Arabella, Black Sheep, Cotillion, and a couple others by Georgette Heyer

cloud atlas by David Mitchell

The Pillow Book by Sei Shonagon

Salad Kinenbi

idk. Those are some books I love at least. Definitely some I am leaving out/ forgetting.

anyway,

I read so much that it's hard for me to have just one favorite book. I mostly love the classics, though.

- Gone With the Wind

- Jane Eyre

- Wuthering Heights

- Pride and Prejudice

- The Phantom of the Opera

- The Lord of the Rings trilogy

- Edgar Allen Poe's collected works

- Any of Shakespeare's tragedies

- Emily Dickinson's poetry

- Anything by Colette

And the list could go on and on...

Shakespeare, Toni Morrison, and John Steinbeck are my favorite authors so I love most everything I've read of theirs. Kafka on the Shore, The Great Gatsby, Giovanni's Room, The Catcher in the Rye, and 1984 are some others.
