new island beginnings​

goals for island: my goals starting out for this island is to just have fun! too many times i have pressured my islands to be perfect & ended up burning out. i want to play at my own pace, work on what i want to work on, not what 'needs' to be worked on. make everything to my liking, not compare myself to others, & not let things get cluttered n overwhelming.
desired themes: pink, cute, cottage, fairy, marine life, whatever i like!! reminder to self: your island does not need one consistent theme, you can add all of the things you like. this is your island, not acnh ad.

northwest (b1) peninsula - 4 stars! (perfect placement, wish it was larger)
southwest (f2.5) airport - 5 stars!

i didn't keep track of how many times i reset to get this map, but it was a lot! it's everything i wanted (besides peninsula size & native fruit n flower - i wanted peaches n hyacinths but wasn't going to reset just for that) im super happy & have so much vision for what i want here.

villagers:
louie - 0 stars
i was sad to see him as a starter tbh, i don't like jock types or gorillas so - u can see the issue! he definitely won't be around forever but while he is here i will be friendly (which might just be to get items & diys.. shh)
katt - 1 star
at first i was very excited to see katt, i had never seen them before & they looked super cute... & then they turned around. i literally yelled, the eyes r scary. also won't be keeping for long but will be friendly.

thank you for reading my first journal entry! my next should be soon (whenever i have the motivation) bc i have progressed a lot on my island in the few days since i started it but i want to keep the entries chronological to what i did & this is all i have energy for today. be kind to yourself & listen to your body!! <3

new features of acnh​

i first started playing this game right when it came out & i haven't played it in a very long time (maybe even a whole year!) so i was happily surprised to see all of the new changes & activities. there seems to be some kind of scuba mechanic that i have yet to try but im SO excited for (i have lots of other stuff going on atm), you can store diys in your house storage i swear i could never do that before - so helpful! there's also something about boat tours to other islands? i have yet to see what that's all about as well, & finally the group stretching sessions! it's so fun & cute + when u use ur joycons instead of the buttons it feels nice to actually stretch. stretching was the first thing i tried out after i saw it mentioned on my bulletin board:

getting blathers ​

my first real goal was to progress my story far enough to get blathers bc i love fishing (im studying to be a marine biologist irl). so i showed Tom nook the samples (while working on other things) & finally bathers was on his way, u can see i was getting ready for a warm welcome:

blathers came & set up his tent, but the only problem was he can only accept 15 critters ): so now im waiting on the museum to be finished. his plot is surrounded with at least 20 critters rn, including this lil guy i was so excited when i found him after i discovered using fish bait (i never have before)

meanwhile...​

i transferred all my extra diys (only about 15), items i loved (mush & seashell items in particular), & bells over from my last island on my switch lite thru my boyfriend's island (i forgot to take any pics of this entire process unfortunately) he said i could have anything i wanted from him bc he hasn't played since the game came out ): but i ended up with 2million bells :0 so i upgraded my home a couple of times & have plans to decorate. i also got nooks cranny & built a bridge so u know what that means... time for my first 3 villagers!

villager hunting ​

from moving mine & my bf's over i had 33nmt to start searching for cute. villagers - but boy did i not need them!
first island: poppy
you have no idea how excited i was to see poppy on my very first island!! she's one of my dreamies, i literally yelled, u know where she's going! straight to fawning & definitely one of my final villagers

second island: agent s
agent s is very cute under his outfit, but notice how i say under his outfit. the biker / superhero looks isn't for me, plus i already have poppy so no need for another squirrel unless i love everything about them

third island: cube
at first i was happy to see cube bc he looked very cute & ive never had a penguin villager before, but then he turned around. his eyes are very unsettling, so i had to leave him behind lol

fourth island: zucker
here's where my luck really started kicking in, zucker?? on my 4th ever island?? ik he's a lot of people's fav & he is very cool have around but probably not an end villager for me. maybe ill use him to trade for someone i really want or giveaway to someone who really wants him. either way he's cool to have around for now

fifth island: shino
i had never seen shino before this day, but omg. they are perfect. they're a deer, the pink, the personality. definitely a contender for final villager depending on who else i find (but im fairly certain i will be keeping them)

phew! that was a lot of writing, but this journal is now caught up to where i am with my island, im excited for my museum to be completed today! i won't update this every day probably, but ill do my best!
