1. The feature to customize villager homes on your own island and reverting them back when talking to Isabelle: Requires playing the entire DLC in order to unlock the feature. The game doesn't tell you this but it is possible to talk to Isabelle to revert a villager's home back to their original home interior. Again must complete the DLC in order for this feature to be unlocked.

2. Items from Lottie's Office that appear in the Nook Shopping "Special" section: When you do the DLC the items that you see in Lottie's office will start to appear in the Nook Shopping Special section.

3. The ability to Polish your furniture: Must be earned when doing enough villager homes in the DLC.

4. Soundscapes, Use Windows or not, and Ambient Lighting: This is only unlocked when doing enough villager homes in the DLC.

If there is any I missed feel free to comment.

I think so is some dances, the dances you can do atthe K.K
beach party
I am not sure if you could get the dance actions another way

Also at Nook's Cranny and Redd's Shop. If you don't have the DLC the items won't appear.
this actually isn’t true. nintendo confirmed months ago that none of the new 2.0 furniture is locked behind the dlc. new 2.0 items can show up just fine in nook’s cranny and redd’s shop, they’ll just show up less often as they’re mixed in with the pre-2.0 furniture as well.

the only dlc-exclusive items are the pillars and counters (both the diys and the items themselves), as well as the paradise planning furniture, clothes and walls/floors. :)

Okay well I took out that statement. Thanks for the correction. Also that is pretty unfair how you can't trade pillars and counters to other players who don't have the DLC.

Are you sure none are locked. Maybe I just had really bad luck but I didn’t see any of the castle items until after I had the DLC. Same with the big construction items. I didn’t have the DLC on my one switch for awhile but after I redownloaded it I started seeing certain items on the daily selection on nook’s shopping that did not appear before it was redownloaded.
