Fence question??

I want to lay some new fences, but they are all brown, and I wanted the fence to be white, I've seen white ones on pictures, so I figured you could just customize them to another color, but I just tried, and they aren't customizable?

It's the simple wooden fencing. How do you get them white?
I've checked the store as well to see if the fences came in different colors but I just got the same ones.

My nook machine rotates 2 fences everyday. I’m guessing when a simple fence recipe comes on there you’ll be able to customize the color after you actually build it.

Thats what I've done.. I bought the recipe from the nook machine, then tried to customize it but it's greyed out aka it can't be customized..? I've checked the machine many times and I just see the same fences in the same colors

There is a white picket fence recipe apparently, you just have to get lucky with the Nook machine

Hm.. allright. Seems weird, I've played almost 50 days of the game, timetraveling and I've only seen the same fences on roll, in the same colors. But thanks
