So I loved bamboo when I first got some. I thought the idea of it growing and spreading on it's own was real fun. The longer I have it though, the less I like it. It is starting to turn into a hassle, having to dig a bunch of it up every couple days.

I still love it and am trying to find some cool ways to use it. Turns out if you cut it on the day after you plant it, it will stay brown. I've been making fences around my town with it. What do you think?

Have any of you tried making fences other ways? Also, you can also make green fences if you let the bamboo grow for another day.

Woah this is a neat idea!
I only do flower/bush/bush/bush/gap and so on lol.

What an interesting idea. I might try that out and use it as a fence for my future flower patches/orchards.

Ooh, those look really neat!
I mostly just have straight rows of different types of bushes, but now I'm rethinking that and I might start interspersing them with tree stumps or bamboo shoots like that.

Even if you were to make a fence, wouldn't random dead spots prevent you from planting either the bamboo or bushes?

Thanks for the input everyone :D

I haven't found any dead spots so far. The only issue is bamboo can't grow within 2 spots (I think) of trees. Just takes a little planning, but no, dead spots haven't been an issue.

Ooh! I think I'll try that to fill in spots where my bushes won't grow.

Can it be planted next to a building, like a flower can? Or do you need one space, like a bush?

I've tried growing bamboo by my house and it died, so I think you do need one space like a bush.

This is a really neat idea. Definitely going to use this. Thanks!

I saw this in a Japanese dream town I visited.

so i stole the idea from them, hehe.

it looks really good, don't it? ^o^

I didn't know about this! What a neat idea, I may have to line an area with some fence

Thanks for sharing this, this will really help me out a lot with my rural town and for keeping people on the footpaths.

Personally, I wait until the bamboo's fully grown before chopping it down, but premature bamboo does give it a bit of color when planted next to bushes.
