Hey guys,
I launched animal crossing to find out that the festivale event is not showing up. I am on 1.7.0 and read that I need to be on 1.7.0a for the event to show up. Any ideas?
Thanks

on the home menu, press minus and check that you're fully updated? other than that I don't have any suggestions unfortunately

I think you can try triggering the -a update by opening the eshop? Something like that worked egregious this happened with turkey day. Hope it helps

I have multiple users. Do I need to link a Nintendo account for each user on my switch?
You should only need 1 linked account, but make sure the user you're currently trying to play is the one with the linked account. You can play the others after you get the event to work. Only my resident rep on my second island has a linked account and festivale is working for me

Hmmmm okay well I have one of my 3 users linked to a Nintendo account but the festivale isn't showing up on my island. Thanks for the info.

When you first loaded the game were you online? Same thing happened to me and the start screen didn’t show Festivale happening so I closed the game and turned my wifi on and when I loaded it back on my villagers were in costume.

Hmmm what do you mean by online? If you talking about being connected to the internet, then yes I am currently connected to the internet and even though Im connected, i launch the game and they are not in the festivale costumes.

In that case, I’m not sure then. That’s what fixed it for me. My switch wifi was off when I started the game so the 1.7.0a update wasn’t applied. I restarted the game with wifi on and it applied the update.

Okay, thanks for trying anyways.

They way it works is v1.7.0 checks with a Nintendo server each time your start the game to see if it's allowed to unlocked the event, If Nintendo server gives the green light, the game unlocks the event turning into v1.7.0a. So something with that process isn't working.

Do you manage your own router? Perhaps you have some kind of setting on the router that makes it over protective on what's allowed through or not. Though I'm not sure this would be the problem since you're connecting to a Nintendo server and not the other way around.

Do you have a Nintendo online sub? If so, does sending and receiving letters to/from other players work?

Is your Nintendo Online account in good standing?

What country are you from? Perhaps your government is blocking traffic? I assume this would only be a problem in Hongkong or China.

Are you using a VPN?

Is your Switch modified with custom firmware/homebrew/hacked?

Is your Switch time set to sync with internet?

You could try checking for corrupt data and repairing or uninstalling and reinstalling the game yourself.

It didn't work for me either until I turned my linked mobile data and wifi hotspot on.

Forced internet.
