Fields of Mistria?

Better than Stardew? Preposterous! /s

In a stream I watched today, someone recommended this to me. Everyone in the chat was singing its praises, and said it was a basically Stardew with an 90s anime art-style. Needless to say, I want this game. Badly.

I've had my eye on Fields of Mistria for a while-- I'd absolutely play it on Switch or PS4 if it ever comes to consoles. The pixel art and soft color palette are so charming! The character designs look super cute and nostalgic, too. I love games with a 90's anime inspired look-- it makes me think of Sailor Moon. (Now that I think about it, Sailor Moon meets Harvest Moon is basically my inner child's dream, haha, just combining two of my early hyperfixations!)

I'm torn between romancing Balor or March 😭
Hardest decision of my life, I fear. I love both of their personalities and their appearance(s).

Guys.. please help me decide 😭 I fear I'll have to make TWO save files so I can be with both of them ><

Anyway, I'm really enjoying the game so far! I love that you can catch bugs and dive for and catch fish also! I know you can fish in SDV, but not dive or catch bugs xD I think it's just as good as SDV, they both have great qualities! However, I feel like I'm enjoying the art style and premise of the game A LOT more than I did with Stardew.

I've been looking into it for a while and I'm trying to avoid too much gameplay since I want to experience it for myself, but at the same time I really only have a switch and and ipad, so I may just cave and watch more playthroughs lol. If it ever comes out on console/switch I'd buy it in an instant! 👀 I got back ino Stardew Valley back in July too, so I'd be lying if I said the fomo for Fields of Mistria wasn't kicking in.

I'm totally in love with the style— as rosefairy said, the 90's anime inspiration is such a look, and the pixel art in general is so charming! I don't mean to compare too much, but I also like the bachelors and bachelorettes more than Stardew Valley (at least from a design standpoint, sorry SV I still love you but I'm not into many of the candidates for dating/marriage skdfdkg). I'm looking forward to playing it for myself even if that takes years. 😂

The game is still early access I believe; maybe that's why it isn't available on other platforms yet except PC!

They haven't even added achievements to Steam, but I'm really excited for when they do! I do think you can only get up to 4 hearts with events atm, but they'll be adding 6-8 heart events soon, I hope! ^_^ And then 10+ in the future!! I have two files now, one for my Twitch streams and one for normal playing ^^ I think I'm going to romance Balor on my Twitch streaming file, and then romance March on my regular playthrough! :3

I really really do love this game. From what I've played, I've enjoyed it more than I've enjoyed Stardew.. I mean, what other farming sim can you save your game IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY in?! Definitely NOT Stardew Valley, but in Fields of Mistria, you can! I absolutely LOVE that quality of life feature. I love how much effort they put into the QoL features. ^^

I received it as a gift today and just dove right in!

Honestly, Adeline and her brother Eiland are already designed to my taste, but we'll have to see what their personalities are like.

I'm already waxing nostalgic for my days in Ragnarok Online based on the little emotes and sound effects.

I have my doubts about it reaching Stardew levels of greatness, but I will be delighted if I have two games to go romancing through! lol
I did try Potion Permit a while back, but it got stale quickly...

QOL feature #2 I'm excited for: the ability to craft straight from storage rather than having to hold the item in direct inventory. 🥳

Oh! I forgot about this one, too! I brought all my stuff to the crafting place and I'm like 'WAIT... it can let me craft from my storage?!' I legit squealed! This game is so fun! Despite it still being early access, there's so much to do and I find it really relaxing and enjoyable!

I really love its art style so much! It's very nostalgic to me and gives me the warm fuzzies. Unfortunately since it's in early access, I will probably wait until it's more of a complete game. I've seen a lot of negative reviews of how buggy Coral Island (another farming sim) was in a early access and I'd rather wait for a more polished product. :D it is so very tempting though!

I don’t typically play games until they are complete, but I definitely have my eye on this one! The reviews are great and the art style looks fantastic.

After numerous last-minute development disasters this year, I’ve somewhat despaired of having games ACTUALLY port to Switch, even when it is promised. Might have to give up and grab a used Steam Deck so that I can give this game a try, along with several others that aren’t going to make it to the Switch. (I really don’t enjoy PC gaming, sadly.)

I'm waiting for a console release as well, but I played the demo when it came out a while ago and I loved it! I've been keeping up with the development for a long time and seeing everyone playing it already makes me so tempted to cave and get it on Steam, but I know I'd enjoy playing it more on my Switch and I'd also rather wait for the full game, so I'm being very patient for now 🥹

Definitely wanna try this game when more is done with it. And hopefully for switch later on??
I love this type of graphic and love finding games that have this cute style.

I just made it to Summer, Year 1! I haven't been playing AS MUCH recently. But watching my sister play the other day when I couldn't gave me major FOMO xD
So, now I'm playing more of it! ^_^

Balor's birthday is Summer 10, which is tomorrow in game for me. I'm going to give him one of his loved gifts c: I saved it just for him, lol.

Regardless of the games development, I'm REALLY enjoying this game. I can say it over and over and over and STILL mean it xD Currently drinking my mornin' coffee while I play. Very relaxing, very cutesy... very demure ><

Yes!
I am super interested in this game, but I want to wait for it to be in development longer. I plan to get it next year possibly unless it hits v1.0 before then. For the time being I've been replaying Stardew heavily the past few weeks. I also have Little Known Galaxy to get back to eventually as well which, I think has an official ending tbh. Unsure. I feel like I am about half way through it. It was an interesting experience.
I've been trying to avoid spoilers for Fields of Mistria, as I kinda want to go in blind, but I've been wanting to know more about the game, like what kind if stuff is in it. As a result, some stuff in heard sounds great.
Unrelated... (Also, I keep calling it Fields of Wisteria by mistake irl because the name is close to water wisteria which is an aquarium plant that I like that many people call a "trash plant")
