Is anyone getting this? I just now saw the news about it and it looks interesting. It contains the Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light game. Apparently it’s only available until March 31st, 2021. Thinking of getting it myself.

I’ll get it. Would’ve been better if they did the other Melee character’s game instead though, don’t you agree? ; )

When I first saw the video/announcement I was in disbelief. Never in a million years did I imagine that this would ever happen haha.

I already preordered it. Yes I’ve played the DS remake via Wii U VC. But there’s always something special about playing the original. I was just about to play the fan translation soon too so this is perfect timing. I’d much rather support an official English release.

I really hope this means we can get some of the other old games finally localized. Genealogy of the Holy War is by far my fave of the series. Fans who haven’t been able to play it are seriously missing out. Though I’d love to see any of the Japanese only games officially translated to be honest.

The GBA games are definitely more friendly to players who have never played anything older for sure. Binding Blade (Roy’s game) though has a ton of super annoying things about it that many fans hated. I enjoyed playing it myself but the problems it has are extremely noticeable. It’s near impossible to hit most bosses especially early game even on normal mode (due to poor balancing), it’s also nearly impossible to avoid getting a bad ending unless you use a guide or know the game like the back of your hand.

It’s worth playing for sure but definitely shouldn’t be the first classic game be to localized. It would likely turn many fans off. I hope to see it at some point though if they decide to continue with officially localizing the older games.

Edit: I forgot to add it also has same turn reinforcements that attack the same turn as they appear. Very easy to get someone killed just because you aren’t using a guide to know when and where reinforcements are coming from. They are even in normal mode so there’s no escaping it.

Just noticed that it's coming out on the day before my birthday. It was a gift for me🖤 Ty Nintendo for being nice xD
And yes l'm getting it

I ended up pre-ordering the special edition 30th anniversary set. I also have it pre-ordered on the eshop so I’ll probably end up giving my code away to someone.

Just a reminder that this game leaves the Nintendo Switch eShop by the end of this month. Make sure to grab it while you still can (I know I did)!

I got this the other day. It's a shame, because it's free with the NES Online app for a Japanese account...which I do have. But, yeah...for the sake of actually being able to read, I did shell out the six bucks or whatever it was. Lol. Fun game. Hard to go wrong with turn-based strategy.

Downloaded last night, just don't know if I'll ever play it soon... It just makes my mind crazy that its a limited time offer.... only reason I downloaded it.

Yeah it is a bummer that we didn’t get it for free but at the same time I can see why. For the Japanese version they basically just had to put it on the Famicom app as there wasn’t really much they needed to do to it.

While for us they had to put aside additional time to actually translate the whole thing before releasing it and from what I know translating a game is much more difficult than it actually sounds.

So the few dollars it does cost is more so to help cover the translating costs and not so much the cost for the game itself.
