I've just unlocked the campsite, and I am given Elise. I have tried tt twice now, and she's there -- Nook and Isabelle say 'it's the first day' for a 'new' camper, but that's obviously not true.
Is there a way around this? I already have a monkey villager that I hate - to get Elise on top of that would really bug me.

Secondly, I have tried visiting islands post-three villagers (that you furbish/get items for), and there is no new villagers since, on these islands. It has been resource islands only.

help ;;

From what I read in other threads, you have to invite the first villager that shows up in your campsite.

Anyone attempted the old campsite visitor trick from NL using a new human villager to check out a villager each time and then save when you get a favourite?

Hello! From my experience, you HAVE to invite that villager in your campsite. I (sadly) got stuck with Rodney.

It seems from then on after building a plot for that first camper, Nook will allow you to "sell land", in which you can place plots of land for sale. When I didn't have any land for sale I visited FIVE islands like a fool, and none of them had villagers, but when I put a plot down today the first island I visited had a villager!

Short form: you need to invite the first campsite villager in order to unlock plots, and once you set some plots villagers on islands should appear again

You don't have to invite the first one. I didn't. Would you like to know how? Take one look, see that they are awful and don't talk to them! I got Skye my second go and went with that.

You're talking about villagers you encounter on a Nook Miles island, not through the campsite on your own island, right? I haven't found a way to avoid inviting the first campsite villager, whether I talk to them or not.

Appreciate the info from Swablu, I had suspected that that's when villagers would start appearing on islands for me again but it's nice to have it confirmed.

I can't 100% confirm if you have too, but after TTing 4 days and still having Rodney, and talking to him you literally have two options of saying yes, it seems like its a mandatory step in order to unlock the rest of Nooks plans
