I got bored late last night so I downloaded CS4 for Mac... and made a Halo 3 signature. I, being in actuality entirely unoriginal, went straight back to the same shtick I've always used for making these types of images:

I didn't put up the text version, because I haven't actually posted my gamertag on here yet. I'm not even sure if this looks ugly anymore, I've always been partial to the types of signatures I make.

It's [CLASSIFIED].

It's not bad, Meester Fern. But it could be better. :T

In what way? Besides text. I never like using text in signatures, but I do if i have to.

And size is not something I consider. 150x500 pixels is not too big

Hmm, maybe like throwing in some C4Ds, y'know, some better effects.

And that is...? One thing I don't use is brushes, ever.

Link.

I rarely use brushes too, really only splatter brushes to smudge with.

I don't think it's worth trying to help this guy, it's obvious he's happy with his sigs and that he doesn't want any advice.

Actually, I do. I've just received nothing specific beyond "it's too large" (I disagree) and "needs more C4D" (and I don't know what that is, and linking to an image of... something did nothing to help that).

So it's obvious you're happy with not actually giving any advice.

It is way too big to be a signature. At the size you have it, it's more of a... banner.

About the C4D's, if you can't figure that out on your own, well... yeah.. not good.

Mmm, that's certainly what it is. It couldn't be that the advice given was vague and unhelpful, could it? No, it's my cognitive abilities. Seriously, there's a vast gulf of difference between advice/criticism and smug, condescending nonsense. Your comments are currently on the wrong side of that gulf.

And I still disagree about it being too large for a signature. What type of image qualifies as a "signature" is a purely subjective thing, so I will note that assessment of its size, disagree, and move on.

Edit - Hell, when I first started making these sorts of images, they were restricted to 48x500. It was very annoying.

Sorry man, i've been sleep-deprived lately, and can't really make a good explanation'n such.

But thank you, a lotta those were hard to make :0

It's not bad for not making a signature in a long time. I like to use C4Ds in my sig, respectively to add a sense of flow (and sometimes depth, but normally C4Ds are meant for flow and design).

Odd, because I knew what they were both talking about.
