Does anyone know how to do flower breeding? I've heard about it but it never seemed to work when i tried it :(

Plant two flowers of the same type next to each other. Leave at least one space next to one of the parents, it's more likely to happen if you leave space on all sides. Be sure to water your flowers every day. This only occurs at random, so be sure to keep trying.

I usually plant them like this

X_X
_X_
X_X

X - flower
_ - space

Ok Thanks :lemon:

But, idk how to get blue flowers :c since blue is a primary color...and...you....can't make it :(

White x White (Pansies) = blue
Black x Purple (Rose) = blue

only two flowers than come in blue

Breeding hybrids is pretty easy. To me anyway. What you should avoid is planting flowers near obstacles (trees, buildings, rocks, etc), and mixing the following combinations with each other:

- White cosmos x white cosmos
- White tulips x white tulips
- Yellow flowers x yellow flowers (tulips are the only exception)
- Red pansies x white pansies
- White x yellow in general

One thing that really helps is to surround a cluster of white or yellow flowers with lots of red flowers. The more red flowers you have, the more likely you're abot to grow hybrids. It works well getting orange hybrids.

If you still need help, feel free to ask. I've been breeding hybrids in CF for over two years.

Zyker has 4 hybrids.
I saw them.
Look below for what he had and how he got them.

Pink roses - White + Red roses
Orange roses - yellow + red roses
Pink tulips - white + red tulips
Purple pansys - white + white pansys

He planted like this.

RisingSun has hydrids too but she planted around the empty house lots!

I have also planted in the X configuration already given. As long as there are spaces for the new flowers, I get a couple a week in my beds.

The way I do the house spaces is by putting a pattern down around the sign in an upside down "U" then doing a "U" with a hole right in front of the sign. It doesn't give a lot of space, but I go through on a daily basis and clear out any that have grown in.

When a house sits on top of them, I pick up the flowers that it didn't squash and the pattern pieces that are visible. I only lose regular flowers that way, and I keep from planting trees in a place that does not support them.

Purple pansies are not made with white pansies. They're made with red. White pansies make blue.

I've spawned so many hybrids that you can simply take a town tour by watering them all.

Ummm ok.
How do you get the purple pansies than?
He didn't have blue pansies.

Red pansies + red pansies make purple.

Let me know if and when you can WiFi this weekend. I'm curious to see how you have your gardens set up. In the meantime, you can look at some pictures of my old flower gardens in my profile.

Hybrid growing has been a side 'game' or aim for me.
I only have flowers lining paths (apart from gold roses for growing grass back off path).

The paths are lined with flowers so that I have the possibility of hybrids, & I do get them, but probably less than if I went for small stand alone groups.
Most paths are tiled, which reduces the number of hybrids I see appearing (less available spaces).
A few of the less used paths are just dirt ones - that does give more space/chance for hybrids to appear.

Two potential breeding flowers do have to be next to one another, no space inbetween, which isn't clear from some of the posts.
It will look as if there is a space inbetween, especially if you place two flowers on the diagonal, they don't literally touch, but they do have to be in the spots next to one another.

Its a slow process if you make it a main aim, a watched kettle never boils.

I've not had much success with breeding hybrids from hybrids, most of mine have come from parent flowers.
Even though I have placed the correct hybrids together.
Hence I keep a lot of ordinary flowers along the paths.
(maybe thats the reason why my hybrids don't breed among themselves though)
I have got some blue roses (placing together the 2 hybrids required) something I never managed in wild world.

In wild world I found having less flowers in total in the town gave me more hybrids, found this out by accident when I TT back & then forward to the right time. (its moving forward that caused the flower loss).

This interesting effect seems to have carried over into accf - ie less flowers in total means more chance of hybrids
- something that has been further developed over on animal crossing community (see the 1st post of the hybrid thread on grownup gamers board if interested)

Here is my set up for my house sign patches:

TTTTT
TxSxT
TxoxT
TxxxT

T=Tile
S=Sign
x=Flower
0=Space

I can probably do it without the tiles, but I think it makes a more finished look with them. When I get a hybrid, it is usually in the space in the center. I go through every day to clear out those spaces. If a house is landed on it, I only lose the regular flowers that I can buy, and then not quite all of them (I usually have the two at the front left in place when a house lands).

I think I added Anthony to my roster.
I will have to check because you keep telling me to add a different one everytime I say I added you.
