Following shop rules.

Question for customers: When you buy something from someone's shops on the forums, do you read the rules? Do you skip over them? Do you read them but ignore them? Do you follow them? What are some rules you dislike/ignore when shopping on the forums.

Question for shop keepers: Do you notice that there are a lot of people who do not read/follow your rules? What are your pet peeves or things you wish people would/wouldn't do while trading/buying from your shop?

You may share some situational examples but please do not name names. I think this information will be informative for both customers/shopkeepers to help keep trades smooth and great for both sides.

Although I haven't bought anything from a shop here yet, on other websites I always skip the rules. Unless there's something specific I need to know (like a password to prove you read the rules..). They are usually the same in every shop and not very interesting to me.

I also think this is a typical poll for people to give socially acceptable answers. I can't imagine I'm the only one here that skips them, but I can imagine people clicking they 'follow the rules' because that's what's expected of them. Of course, by skipping over the rules it doesn't mean I don't follow them. My experience is that I usually follow them automatically.

most of the time i've read the rules, i'm pretty sure i've skipped some lists as some threads can be really long and i can't be bothered to read everything. i don't think i've ever broken one before since i've always had no problems with shopkeepers. i also was a shopkeeper once and i had a set of rules which everyone followed

I read all the rules cause they're usually important to know or so I don't end up asking a question that can be answered in the OP.

If the thread is unorganized or long, I usually skip it and find a new thread unless I'm desperate for the item(s) they are selling. Shopkeepers need to be short and to the point to keep people's interest.

Well, my shop was closed and I got like two or three orders, and I didn't just close it when they posted, it was already closed and they would've seen if they bothered.

I always skim the rules when I'm shopping.

The only shop I consistently run is my villager shop. I wouldn't say "a lot" of people don't read my OP but there's definitely enough people who don't that it's annoying. There used to be a lot of people wasting my time too, but since I increased prices those time wasters are few and in between.

I have a GFX shop. Everyone follows my rules, fortunately! Though I don't buy much now at all, I always read the rules when I do.
