I just started trying to make signatures. I worked for like hours yesterday and made 4 or 5...but it's freakin' difficult. I can never get the sprites to look big enough for some reason when I upload the photo onto here unless there's basically nothing behind them, but I want to make a more detailed signature. Does anyone know why this happens??

Also, HOW ARE YOU ALL SO SKILLED? Does it just take a ton of practice or what?!

I use paint, play around with the tools, ta-dah!
(sorry it's not descriptive and helpful but that's what I do)

I use paint, and then I put it on here as a pic. It always turns out too small, so I got Beanie to do mine xD Skills.

I used Powerpoint for mine...just used the sprites and some fun shapes and fonts.

Personally I think the sprites look better in their original size, when you start enlarging them they just get really pixely and ugly.

I use photoshop for mine, when resizing (if you have to) hold shift and it will keep the proportions correct.

And I am not sure what you mean about them not looking big enough with nothing behind them.

Is you image being resized smaller when you upload it?
In that case make sure the image hosting site you are using isn't set to resize images, or there is a maximum size limit, try Photobucket.

Adobe Photoshop its worth it especially resizing the pictures, it took me a while to finish. I will make a new one whew.

I'm wondering the same thing! D: I made mine with paint tool sai + photoshop cs3, and it's the first sig I ever made, along with my profile picture so I just kept it simple. xc While others have unique signatures with more info, etc.

I'm a poor loser and I made mine in MSPaint.
It took like 46 minutes but I really like it!

I use Photoshop
if you don?t wanna purchase it you can just download the 30 days trial. :)

I have GIMP, a free program that is like photoshop in many ways. You should try that!

It does take some practice to get the basics down though, but it's fairly simple.

I also use GIMP :D

Its very complicated and time consuming to make a siggy sometimes. I found that the biggest you can enlarge the character sprites is 40x40 pixels (their original size is 32x32) before they start looking all wonky and weird. and as for the background I don't stretch it wince that makes it look really pixelated and foggy...text can also be a hassle, you have to have a font that looks clear when its small enough to fit in the space and then it gets worse if you use color on color.. busy backgrounds can break up the outlines of text and sprites too x.x

I'm rambling... but yeah, it just takes a little practice, and a little touch and feel as you go to get it just right.

I used Photoshop for mine (free trial) and I didn't resize the pixels. I think they look much better that way :3

Mine is also quite basic I think too much can make it look a little pants.
