I really hope fortune cookies continue but are more like pocket camp

I like the fortune cookies, but I'm not sure how they'd be implemented. I don't like how they're done in pocket camp because the encourage microtransactions. I'm not giving y'all money to get digital items.

I personally like New Leaf's fortune cookies because I found it fun to read the little fortune message and try to guess what item I got, where as in Pocket Camp I'm guessing it's just random 'fortune' text. Although one thing I would like to see for fortune cookies is maybe the different cookie sets but only for seasonal events.

This is why I avoided playing it. Hopefully this practice won't seep into Horizons, but I wouldn't be surprised if it did either.

I hate pocket camp fortune cookies and all items that encourage micro transactions. Ugh.

I really REALLY doubt Microtransactions would be in the game. But there has already been confirmation of collaboration items between NH and PC. What that entails, I don't know.

I'm probably in the minority, but I didn't like fortune cookies even in New Leaf when they weren't microtransactions. I never bought them, and I didn't really like most of the items that were in them, but I don't see why they shouldn't be included in NH. But, like almost everyone else said, I don't know how they would go about implementing them

Yeah, I never cared for the fortune cookies. I hope they implement a new feature for special items, like a claw machine you can only use 3 times a day.

I want the items from the fortune cookies in Pocket Camp to be in New Horizons, but they wouldn't dare put microtransactions in a real video game...

I liked both the fortune cookies in New Leaf and Pocket Camp, but I do have to admit, I didn't like the micro transactions in Pocket Camp. I don't really like spending money on something that isn't worth spending. I still play Pocket Camp for fun though and I kinda doubt they will put micro transactions into a mainline game. Like everyone else said though, I don't know how they will implement fortune cookies into the game.

If they introduce micro-transactions as fortune cookies in the game, I will never buy it. I can understand using those crappy business practices for the crappy shallow content mobile games, but not for a full priced Switch game. To me that would be like giving the finger to the consumers.

I would really rather not. I never liked these things either in nl or pc and I always just bought the items I wanted from other players instead of bothering with them. They?re a pain in the butt and promote micro transactions imo

The only thing i like how pc fortune cookies is you can get more items than NL. I wouldnt want anyone to buy anything

without micro transaction pretty please, I really hate that part of the game on PC.

Yes this! Just opening up more items in the fortune cookie

As long as they're just in-game items that will never cost real life, money, they're fine to have. But the second you offer them for any form of real life currency, they're a big no.

If they gonna put micro-transactions into this game, you can prepare yourself for a huge riot coming
from the Animal Crossing fandom that will top the "#BringBackNationalDex" riot from the Pokemon
fandom. I mean take a look at Pocket Camp, whenever they gonna announce new fortune cookies
on twitter, 90% of the replies are people complain of how it's unfair to get them since all those
items costs way too much Leaf Tickets = real money. Imagine something like this with New
Horizons would kill the game immediately.

If they want to bring back fortune cookies then only if you can pay them with in-game currency,
like bells or MEOW coupons. Like they could turn all those fancy new items from Pocket Camp into
Gracie items, making them a bit expensive but you still don't need to pay real money for them. Or
turn them into rare items which can be found on random days at Timmy & Tommy's shop or Able
Sisters. Another option: Just craft them.

The only way they could really make NH have as many micro transactions as pocket camp would be to add DLC that you had to buy, which is something that wouldn't make sense in the game. I don't think they're going to be as money-hungry with NH as they were with PC, or it's going to severely affect their sales.

What if we can use Nook Miles for getting fortune cookies? Seems like the best way for them to handle it.

That's actually a pretty good idea and could also work, like turning the fortune cookies into Nook Miles
exclusives rewards.

I agree, and it sounds likely to happen since Play Coins don't exist on the Nintendo Switch. I don't think Nintendo would just sell them for in-game bells.

The fortune cookies from ACPC and ACNL will probably both return but are just switched out daily and seasonally at Timmy and Tommy's store. Maybe Redd will sell them in some form? Who knows but I'm sure they'll be there
