I'm only about 5 houses into HHP, and I was wondering if friendship level from the main game carries into HHP at all. I know you can eventually invite your villagers from your island to HHP. For those who have done it, is there any indication of friendship level carrying over (greetings/catchphrases, outfits, extra dialogue, etc?)

Here's an interesting scenario I am thinking about. You invite a villager to HHP. You then let that villager move off your main island. Later on, you invite that villager back on your main island (via amiibo or some other method). On your main island, that villager is then "reset" (not retaining friendship level, greetings, etc), but the old version of that villager still exists on HHP. So you technically have two different versions of the same villager - is that correct?

I believe I've read that your main island villagers retain catchphrases and nicknames for you whilst they are residents but as soon as they move out, their HHP version resets to default (even if you've already built their vacation homes).

Could be wrong but fairly certain this is unfortunately the way it is.

I don't know about the second scenario, but I do know that catchphrases and clothing carry over. Knox repeats his catchphrase, and I'm pretty certain he once appeared with custom clothing.

Ah, yeah, that is unfortunate but does makes sense that the game would reset them since that's what it does in the other scenarios.
