Gates,Paths, and such

He-y All! I was wondering what the path this is. Is it somthing you can just make with a pattern or is it like a thing you just get from an animal or somthing. Oh, and how do some people change there gate style? please help a Newb out... :'(

a path is something that you make out of trampling the grass alot and you constantly follow on your day to day route. so, just figure out your way around town, then a path will slowly start to appear. and you can't change your gate style unless you restart your whole game.

1#: Path pattern made by someone.
2#: Grass being worn away in ares you run on often forming a path.

You can't change your gate style, unless you completely restart. SAMwich answered your question about paths.
