Ok, so on Tuesday my mom took my sisters "clothes shopping". But then they came home each with a pet hamster! So on Wednesday, my mom took me to Petsmart to get a hamster. But when I got there I saw an animal I wanted more than a hamster.

Meet Gecko (Isn't the name original?)

A bit closer, but also a bit fuzzy...

Gecko is leaopard gecko. He's a few months old, and about 4 inches long. He lives on my dresser in my bedroom.

Gecko by his water bowl.

The white stuff on the ground is a powder I put on his food... Live crickets, which also live in my room. (In a cage, obviously.) The orange is a little leftover carrot from last night.

This pic is really fuzzy, but I'm posting it anyways.

Leopard geckos grow to be between 8-12 inches, and live about 19-22 years. They are nocturnal, and are native to Pakistan/Afghanistan. They are members of the Eublepharide family of geckos, the only family with movable eyelids. (And without toe pads that let them scale vertical surfaces. They just have claws for climbing.)

Awesome! Have fun with Gecko.

:p
Thanks. We're still trying to reach a compromise. I prefer letting sunlight into my room, he likes the dark, I like my windows open, he likes it hot in my room.

By the way, altogethor, the tank, gecko, and supplies cost about $150... Ouch...

Advice: When the time comes to feed him, don't hesitate. If possible, try to buy crickets ahead of time, and store them (this may sound strange) in a refrigirator. Thats what the guy told me to do...but I thought it sounded wierd, so I didn't, and, well... >.<

I have a leopard gecko too. Well it's not actually mine, but it's in my house. =p We've had him since he was a baby, and he's gotten much bigger. It's really gross when they shed their skin because they eat it =D

By the way, none of those pics are working for me.

Well if they are the dead ones, you have to keep them in the fridge.

Awesome that you have a pet now! Unforunately I don't have my own pet but family pets which are both Golden Retrievers btw. Anyways have a great time with your Gecko off topic but XD when I went to this topic I saw an ad for Geico!

You can buy them dead? o_O

Wish we would've known that...
Yah, they're canned. A lot easier to manage and less gross... but they are pretty gross too. =p But at least they can't jump around everywhere. But they do spoil and the gecko might not like them if they're old.

Ah...

Well, clearly I'm not as big a fan of bugs as you.

:p

Birds are the pets for me. <3

Ah, I'm kinda a redneck. Kinda. Just a little...

And Storm, I'll try to work the pictures out.
