People. Get a hold of yourselves. GET. OVER. IT. It's Tax Day. What in god's name did you expect from ANYONE? You don't have to do taxes (not everyone, but most). Most of you dont pay bills. Most of you don't look at Tax Day as a huge thing. I know I didn't. And you're crying and SENDING EMAILS because they were trying to be nice and gave EVERYONE 1,000 bells free? At least we actually got something, GAWD. Now, I'm not saying I was exactly thrilled with this, but I didn't get my panties up in a bunch and start sending emails about how big of a deal this is!

Because every time "Mom" sends 1000 bells, it isn't announced on the Nintendo website as DLC. Look, I've said this in... I don't know how many threads now (there really have been too many now).... that the issue isn't that Nintendo sent out 1000 bells. That was kinda cool. The issue is that they raised everyone's expectations by announcing it as the newest DLC on their website.
They first released the shamrock hat, which was a complete surprise. When that came out, on the Nintendo website they added a page explaining how to get DLC in your town and pictures of the shamrock hat and whatnot. This page also included the date of the next DLC to be released... which was the Pikmin hat. When that came out, they announced the next DLC release to coincide with the release of the DSi... the black DSi bench. And when that came, they announced the Tax Day release.
That is why I, and everyone else, expected something great on Tax Day... because they had only announced really cool items up to that point. 1000 bells shouldn't have been mentioned... it should have been a complete surprise so we could all laugh about it.
