One of my villagers has alerted me that one of my villagers I'm tired of finally wants to move out.

When she pings me to move, should I just ignore it and she'll still go? I noticed last time I was pinged to move and said "Good Bye" they decided to change their mind and are still here :(

Alright, you might hate me for this but what I did was save BEFORE confronting said villager and if they ping you and they decide to stay you quit WITHOUT SAVING and try again until they decide to leave. That's what I did so it worked...

Oh, so it's randomly generated if they actually leave or not? I assumed if they were too good of friends with me, they'd never leave unless I didn't play for x amount of time and just got lucky :p

That's not correct. What's random is which villager decides to ping you to move. Not their decision on leaving by your response.

The decision is based on the friendship level of the character moving. That being said, if you /constantly/ abuse a villager with a net and they ping you one day and you say yes... They're going to stay because they want to be better friends.
So, you can /try/ to do the quit and restart thing, but it had never worked for me when I had Spork in my town and I abused him with a net previously. (He literally planted himself in the middle of everything.)

I'm speaking from not only experiences, but you can also google it as well about villagers staying after the net abuse.

So is ignoring the best bet to make sure they go? Or restarting over and over until they stop saying they changed their mind?

If a villager tells you that someone is thinking of moving they will definitely move if you don't stop them. If you want them to go, you can just avoid them completely and they will still move. That's what I do when I want to avoid having someone I don't like change their mind about moving.

If you don't want to risk them possibly saying that they'll stay to become better friends then just ignore them. As said above, once you have been told by another villager, that moving villager will move unless you try to stop them. It can take up to 5 days for them to go into boxes.

I've had a villager ping to leave and when I said sure, they said "Well now I guess I have to stay around so we can become better friends!" and I was like -____________- no pls I think it's just random cause it's happened to both besties that wanted to move and people I ignore who wanted to move. But yeah, like already mentioned if they do that and you want them to leave just quit without saving and try again.

Yeah also a note if you do this turn off without saving if they say no, they should move out regardless and they shouldn't have to ping you about it again (so just ignore them after that no matter what they say)
