I got this same error a few days ago when I start up the game. I updated to 2.0.3 the 1st of December and played the game intensely all month without incident. My game was fine the 29th, but when I started it the next day the error began appearing sometimes. Naturally this happened the day I fell ill and couldn't do much about it. I'm very careful about not shutting it off without saving and all that so I don't know why this happened suddenly after playing with what was then the most current update for weeks without incident.
I did kick out a couple villagers on the 29th by using the campsite method. Could this be related to the error somehow? I'm really worried. I don't want to lose this new save file now. I have the perfect island layout and all 10 villagers I want. It took me a month to get this far.
Tomorrow if I feel well enough I plan to visit my cousin to use WiFi and get 2.0.4 update. Will this help or should I just redownload the whole thing again? I also will have to download the DLC again too. It may take quite a while to dl the whole thing again and I don't know if I'm quite up to waiting that long.

I'm also having this error a lot since, a week or two I would say. I'm playing since day one and I never got such an error before. It might be related with the new update? I don't think it's related to the campsite method. Today I can't even play, the error appears almost every time...

Sorry to hear you're getting this error too. For me, it happened almost 4 weeks after updating to 2.0.3. Sometimes it'll go for hours without showing up then I'll get it a couple times in a row. Nothing seems amiss when I do play but I'm going to do a full reinstall next time I have WiFi access. Last time I went online I didn't get this error the whole time but after I got home it did it again.

This happened to me when we got the 2.0 update. I didn't think I would ever get my game back. I spent so much time online trying to figure out the problem. I tried Nintendo's trouble shooting steps, but nothing was working. I would re download the game, but it would stop about 15 minutes into it, saying my game was corrupt, but when I checked for corruption, there wasn't any. Someone on here suggested that I delete it then download. That finally worked. The bad thing was that it took over three hours, and I would check on it every 15 minutes or so, with fear that it would stop again. Everyone was playing the new update and I was spending the entire day, trying to download it. It was a sad day, but I was so happy and relieved when it finally worked and I could play again.

It will not stop spitting out this error today. I'm planning on doing a full redownload of the game and DLC tomorrow at cousin's house. Going to take a huge chunk of the day most likely. Hoping my new save isn't the problem because it isn't backed up yet. No corrupt data is ever found. If I have to delete this save because of this error I don't think I could play again. Ugh.
