I know I've been asking a lot of questions tonight but I have one more xD
How does one put a gif in their signature? Is that an add-on I have to purchase? I've seen people with gifs in their signatures but I haven't been able to upload gifs to mine. Any help would be much appreciated!

Your avatar is the only thing you have to purchase an animation for. Signatures are allowed to have GIFs by default. If it's not working, then there is something wrong with the GIF.

As someone who has similar problems, I find that linking my file from Imgur or some other image sharing site is the best way to have GIFs on this site. I don't know why, but whenever I upload a GIF here directly from my computer it turns into a stationary image.

Thank you for your quick reply! I think that answered my question, I appreciate it and will try again using a website rather than uploading from my computer

Hey, pulling up an old thread because I still can't figure it out?I tried to upload a gif to my signature and it said I don't have permission to upload animated images. Any suggestions?

I opened the same page as the one in your photo, and my GIF upload permission is also set to "No." I was able to have animated signatures though, so there isn't anything wrong with your account.

I think you need to link to a GIF from another website in that case. Just go into Insert Image, then do from URL. Uncheck "Retrieve remote file and reference locally" because most files seem to be too large for that. With any luck you can get the image you want.

I'm by no means an expert in this topic, so hopefully I was able to explain it correctly.

Thanks so much for replying again haha. I think I tried that the last time I wanted a gif in my signature, but I'll try again and see what I can do; hopefully I can get it to work this time and thanks again!

I think I got it? Was a long process as I had to resize it externally, download it, then upload it to Giphy as a means to directly link it but I think it worked :)

Yeah, I think you always need to upload it elsewhere (like giphy or imgur) as the TBT image uploader can't handle animated pictures. So this will apply if you're trying to post a gif somewhere or trying to get an animated avatar.
