I'm an anime veteren from the 2000's and am looking for new things. I've seen the classics, I'm not genre specific. I'm not interested in Demon slayer though that may change in the future. I also have funimation, but not crunchyroll (yet). I did get into attack on titan and puelli magi magica madoka (still holding out for another season that isn't a spin off).

also I hope you're all doing well. it feels good to be back in this community

You probably already know this but there is a third Madoka movie that's set after the series ends. The other two are recaps of the series. Also a fourth movie is coming out soon too!

As for a recommendation, I highly recommend Durarara!! It's a wild show about a headless rider, gangs, thugs, an information broker, a demon sword, russian assassins, mafia and more that happens within the city. It's really hard to explain the show haha.

Clannad / Clannad after story for romance
School rumble for comedy
Those are early 2000s though.

Rising of the shield hero was good from 2019 and season 2 will be airing soon.

Yeah, I actually collect clannad things. I have it on dvd, several figures, and I even have the japanese manga(though I'm missing one of the books that would be considered an OVA in anime.

It depends on what your tastes are but here are my top ones.

-Kakurikyo : Bed and Breakfast for Spirits...Lots of food, supernatural beings, little romance, funny, slice of life.
-Anchient Magus' Bride...slice of life, supernatural beings, funny, deep life subjects, one of most favorite.
-Yuri on Ice....you prpopably know of this one
-Yashahime...sequel to Inuyasha...waiting on season 2 this fall.
-Holmes of Kyoto...kinda sherlock holmes flare, mystery
-My roommate is a cat...slice of life, each ep. is in 2 parts one in the human pov and then the cats...really cute and also worth a watch if you want something easy

Then there are the main ones like DBZ and Inuyasha and Bleach and Naruto...but the ones above are the ones I always reccommend to people

I'm so ready for this, you have no idea. I feel like that old lady in the titanic "it's been 84 years..."

I've actually seen both but I might rewatch now that you bring them up

I haven't seen any of the ones you mentioned, though I read through the ancient magus bride up until 2018 so I suppose I have some catching up to do

I'm really prone to monsters + lady love, so I guess if I have a genre it's that? otherwise I don't really have a genre and I don't mind subs or dubs. I prefer dubs only because I get really into animation and like to see the different tricks. Subs are better simply because the voices fit better but the story doesn't usually change in the dubs...usually....

Redo of a
Kill La Kill
Pretty funny, and I like the story, the animation is amazing.
Konosuba
A comedy isekai, season 2 is especially funny.
Hunter X Hunter 2011
Just a very good shonen show.
