After a year finally got the golden shovel recipe. Began to think it was a myth.

This and the axe are both so tedious that I gave up trying a long time ago. For a while, I was intentionally breaking both...but, I just couldn't keep it up. If I eventually get them, that will be cool. But I'm not going down that road anymore. Lol

You get the shovel from helping gulliver 30 times so breaking it would have gotten you nowhere.

The axe one is correct but any type of axe works including flimsy, so I just used them for my daily gameplay

I still don't have either. I wish there was a better way to track progress for them. The Gulliver NM goal ends at 20 and includes Gullivarrr and the broken tool goal includes all tools, so I have no idea how close I really am to either.

Good job! I still haven't gotten it and every time I think I will (because Gulliver had shown) it never happens. The last time I was pretty sure I would had gotten it and it was still not happening.

I just got the DIY the other day as well, seriously took longer than both the Net and Rod. ^^;

do you guys remember the ac game where you had to toss your silver ax into the fountain in order to get the gold ax? i must have tossed at Least 100 of those in that fountain lol!

would you believe that this used to be the easiest golden tool to get in past games? to the point where you could get it within under a week of playing without time traveling?

(talking pre-new leaf, obviously. but even new leaf's method is faster than new horizons')

Congratulations on your accomplishment! Unfortunately, I don’t have any of the golden tools. I don’t really have a preference though. If I need a tool, I’ll go pick one up from Nook’s store.

Just so you know you cannot customize the gold shovel to restart its durability and you have to make sure that you craft enough gold shovels because yes in this game gold tools break. Even after a year it's still annoying.

I also got my golden shovel this week! That took more than a year of playing. I am glad it's finally over.
