Golden Slingshot Recipe Found

Not sure if anyone else found one yet, but, I just got a Golden balloon, and inside was the Golden Slingshot recipe. not quite sure what triggered it, but I did just break a slingshot before it showed up, so it might be i hit the required number.

Golden tools break after 200 hits which is only 100 more than the regular tools, so it's probably not worth wasting your golden nuggets on them.

People seem to have been getting the recipe shortly after that glitch was fixed. I'm assuming after you break 300 balloons, the golden slingshot balloon has a chance to appear!

yeah, I guess some bug in the coding was preventing that present from spawning and making it so no other balloons would spawn as a result

though I do wonder if it was always meant to be something for the 301st+ regular balloon present or something for the 300th+ one

very true. i was one of those souls.. spent an entire day with no winds howling..but at least its fixed and now we actually have the ability to obtain it~

ironic how regular tools are actually superior in this game, since they can be customized. making them effectively unbreakable, so long as you manage your things right

except axes. those will always still break


also, to my knowledge, more accurately , golden tools are just double what the regular tool's base durability is

so like the rod/net will be able to catch 60 things instead of 30

there is at least ONE benefit to making them, theres a nook miles achievement for crafting all 6, with a reward for each one crafted, as well as new tags for your title. for this one, I believe i got Royal prefix and Prince/Princess suffix.

I'm hoping it's just by chance (and that I get it soon). I've been searching high and low for the fabled golden balloon today and so far I've found nothing.

The recipe must have been made acquirable in v1.1.3, because all balloons stopped for us at 300 balloons.

I don't believe that's true. Regular tools break after 30 uses. So 200 uses is 170 more

You're half right apparently, I just read it's different for all tools. Iron axes and shovels break after 100 uses, slingshots 30, and rod/net 30. So really, regular axes and shovels are pretty strong for what they're worth.
I never actually noticed the tools had different durability, I thought it was the same for all since I managed to count my stone axe up to 100 before it broke.

I'll only be crafting the gold materials once for the miles though tbh.

Can confirm. Got my 300 balloon notification earlier and the golden balloon with the recipe blew by shortly after.

I wonder if the people I've seen have just been getting lucky by getting the golden balloon shortly after the 300 balloon notification? I didn't get mine after and I've been hanging out at the beach where the balloons spawn all day (since 6 AM) and so far I haven't seen it. I wonder if it is random chance or if it is supposed to happen soon after.

Not sure how it's working, but I was without balloons for two days because of the glitch. This morning, after updating, I got the golden balloon within an hour of opening the game.
