Don't know if anyone mentioned this yet but Label comes to your town randomly and does fashion checks! She appeared in mine on April 3rd (I TT'ed). Maybe in a future update this will contribute towards whether she brings a designer fashion label to a fully upgraded Nook's cranny store? Perhaps she replaces Graciegrace with something new? Her dialogue mentions that she's become an independent designer now!! Considering we now know Leif is being added in a future update (see Animal Crossing twitter), I don't think this theory is out of the realm of possibility! New designer clothing would be so cool so I really hope this comes to be.
