I finally did it! It took so long but I finally did it! I finally passed all four encounters with Gracie and her stupid "fashion check"! That giraffe wouldn't know fashion if it smacked her in the face. Her furniture design is just...horrid. Blue and green circles on wood furniture? That's not very "fashion forward". It looks extremely 60's. Like BAD 60's! But, ya know, whatever. I just wish it hadn't taken SO LONG. I swear she only showed up like once every 10 days or something. (I don't know what her actual schedule was according to New Leaf because I never cared enough to check).
For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, let me explain really quick. After you get the T.I.Y. upgrade and it's been up for quite some time, Gracie, this annoying giraffe, will suddenly appear in your town. She says that she MIGHT want to open a shop in your town but she doesn't think the town is "fashionable enough". So, you have to prove to her that your town is. She'll give you a theme (In my case I got cute, ornate, official, and basic) and you have to match those themes. If you fail at any point, you have to wait one extra try. Let's say you fail your third fashion check, well now you have to do not only the fourth one but a fifth as well! It's just so frustrating. I was lucky that Able kept the store stocked with her themes every time she showed up.
Since I passed my fourth fashion check, I get a new, and final, store upgrade!! It's T&T Emporium and it's a three-floor building of just...amazingness! On the first floor is all the furniture and stuff, with bigger chances of getting rarer items. Then on the second floor is a toy store and on the third floor is Gracie's overly expensive crap. I'm excited to have the final upgrade for the store! This means I only need one more shop to open on Main Street and that's the Fortune Teller's shop. I haven't gotten 40 fortunes yet but I hope to soon
